We have moved to another fast server!

Post by luchtzak »

Hi all,

today I received a small warning from my current provider. Every month I exceeded the 5 gigabyte bandwidth, July and August to 10-11 gigabyte per month! And the server where about 200 websites are located was screaming and having pain because of luchtzak.be :-) That's why sometimes it went horribly slow...

If things stayd like this I would have been forced to pay an extra 363 € for 2003 up my 249 € per year hosting that I allready pay... A little too much for a hobby-website...

That's why I decided to move servers with the great help of Gaylen from www.ravenwebhosting.com . He is specialised in phpnuke-powered websites and he offered his expertise to help this community! And he only charges me 30 USD per month for 15 gigabyte datatransfer (2.50 USD per extra gigabyte per month)

This means that as from tonight the website can be down for a short while just to find out that it will be back online tomorrow-morning! Please please :-)

Thanks for understanding if the website is down!

greetings,

Bart

Great news. I found it horribly slow today.

But better down for a while tonight than down forever tomorrow or later.

You're doing a big job with this site, Bart. Keep going.

But first some downtime ;-)

I've just had an error message when I tried to get back to the home page after editing my signature - it was a "gateway timeout, server unreachable" one, unless that's all part of the moving servers process. I hope this site isn't going to stop working on my system, because some other sites have stopped working recently.

Bart I think that you can pay an extra fee of 2,50 USD per month verry soon if jou see the increasing number of pageviews a day. That is the desadvantage of the succes of the site. :D

Well, more pageviews means more exposure means more clicks on the banners and the textads by Google ;-) And maybe a big sponsor in the future ?? ;-)

Which website?

I posted one on mine about the site going down, but as the problem seems fixed, I will probably remove the message before people begin to comment and tell me I've got it all wrong!

Sonny,

it is the servertime. You will need to put the time to +2 in your own profile.
