Etihad Airways AUH-BRU-YYZ as from October 31 (confirmed!)

Post by OO-VEX »

Hello,

a lot has been said about Etihad Airways on this forum, but those who were patient can be very happy now.

On the Amadeus website I've found this

From/To - Flightnumber-Days-Departure Time-Arrival Time-Airplane

AUH - BRU SN8102 1-3-5-- 13:15 17:45 332 (operated by Etihad Airways - EY)
BRU - YYZ SN8099 1-3-5-- 19:00 21:45 332 (operated by EY)

YYZ - BRU SN8100 1-3-5-- 23:00 12:30 332 (operated by EY)
BRU - AUH SN8101 -2-4-6- 13:45 23:20 332 (operated by EY)

That makes that we will see an EY plane 6x week @ BRU. :D
So SN Brussels Airlines is codesharing with EY to both AUH and YYZ.
I think EY flights are not yet loaded in the system as I couldn't find EY flights on these sectors.

*zucht* read the post of VEX a couple of times more ... he mentioned 4 times they will use the 332 and no other plane

And Atlantis, strange behavior you have ... You are shooting at everyone when they ask for a confirmation when you say something about a new route or something like that and now YOU are asking for one ....

Well done BRU. You've not had an easy time of the past few years. Hope this is the start of further expansion and new long haul services

Great to see that what was announced here is now official.

Be nice if we could have the much-anticipated BRU-YUL now 8)

just checked the connection to BKK.
BRU- BKK via abu dhabi
go 9 or 23 hours stopover
return just 55 minutes.
I hope that some shedules get ajusted...

The only problem with a 55 stopover in AUH would be whether baggage services are fast enough to transfer baggage. Provided you arrive on time then 25 minutes would be enough to transfer in that terminal as it currently is. It is pretty small. Once they build the new terminals / airport then i imagine it will be a problem!

I think this is only the beginning ...
Many airlines want to come to BRU,
buth with the troubles in the past
many airlines decided not to come anymore ...
Buth that's kinda the same story like ANR where the
government always says "NO" to airlines who want to fly there ...

I think, and hope, that we also can expect the Etihad Crystal Cargo. Brussels was mentioned on their list. So, when we have the pax planes and the cargo planes, it's big time in Bru :P

They have also plans to start service to the USA from summer 2006 with New York as their first destination. Could it be that they do this also via Bru?
