Don't they have the "pig" or a C130 for this?

There is a kind of "nest" of these Skyvan paradroppers at LKKT Klatovy in Czechia; most are painted in this 1960's hippie VW bus style. Ah, some folks never grow up :)

As for not using the C130's: perhaps these are found more expensive, or perhaps they are approaching the limit of useable hours?

[[non-aviation]] Sorry, Stij, you sound like you don't get the whole picture. The association of the pink color with (male) homosexuality is rather recent, it wasn't known in the days of the hippie VW's. Gay-parades really have nothing to do with this plane, funny though it may look. It respires the hippie spirit, not homosexuality. Perhaps that is just as embarrassing, though, to our alpha-males :)

A few pictures can be found at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volkswagen_Type_2 - people used any color they could get hands on, the more the better! (pour la petite histoire: myself rode a 2CV "baker's delivery van" in those days, equally colourful. No pink, though, neither any other sexual implications, perceived or real)

Arik Air, Nigeria's largest airlines, has "temporarly" ceased operations today. Reasons vary from insurance policy not renewed on time to fuel cards blocked by the bank.

Breda International Airport, 10 Sept 2016:

Breda Airport is "international" indeed. One minute after take off, you cross the Dutch/Belgian border.

(cool filmer by the way: most people would have dived away)

idea is 20 years old, but why not, next to the Belgians, the Dutch are top notch dredgers. And maybe Harm Prins with his Chinese investors can also help this project

Passengers and crew had plenty of time to prepare for the emergency landing: the aircraft circled for 2,5 hours at low altitude to burn off fuel.

Portland, Oregon-based SeaPort Airlines, Inc. announced that it is ceasing all operations at the close of business on September 20, 2016. The airline made a motion today to convert is bankruptcy proceedings from Chapter 11 to Chapter 7 of the U.S. bankruptcy code. Tim Sieber, president of SeaPort Airlines, said, “This is a very sad day for our employees, shareholders, and the communities we serve. I would like extend my heartfelt appreciation to the employee team that I have been honored to lead and who delivered industry leading operational performance. While we made great strides, a successful financial reorganization did appear possible and we were forced to make the difficult decision to cease operations.” Customers with tickets on SeaPort Airlines that were purchased with MasterCard or VISA credit cards may apply for a refund through their credit card company. Customers using other credit cards must inquire at their respective credit card companies about refunds.

Fleet: "...SeaPort Airlines is certainly different from your typical travel experience. We don’t have jumbo jets or in-flight meals, or even restrooms on many of our aircraft. For many short-haul routes, you’ll be hopping into a Cessna 208 Grand Caravan, a fixed-wing aircraft with a reputation for being a reliable workhorse. We’re not fanciful by any means, but you’ll be surprised by how comfortable, unique and fun these trips can be, with cushy seating and excellent views of the landscape below..."

Sadly I've flown with them in 2013 and the first question at the checkin was my weight :)
(only 2 pax from BNA-MKL-MEM stop in MKL was to drop some documents)
