An Easyjet Airbus A320-200 performing flight U2-2083 from London Luton to Tel Aviv was enroute at FL330 about 40nm southeast of Brussels (Belgium) when the crew decided to return to London Luton after several members of the cabin crew reported feeling unwell.

Last Thursday, an SN flight to Prague was cancelled after passengers, who had been waiting in the plane for a departure authorisation from Belgocontrol (which was still recovering from the power failure), complained about the heat in the cabin. A flight attendant then opened the rear door, but forgot to disconnect the safety control. Thus the evacuation slide was automatically actioned and the flight had to be cancelled.

Some passengers could be rebooked on other flights, but others had to spend a night in Brussels before being able to depart.

Due to a crash of the IT system of LOT, many flights were cancelled toay, including LO233 to BRU.

Update: the crash was due to a hackers' attack. If the authorities find them, they are likely to get a high bill!

Situation back to normal.

What happened to OO-SFZ on approach now with ETA 09:49lt?
She left as SN453 and returns as SN1453 with a 03h45 delay.
Seems (poor FR24 coverage) that they initiated the descent to BJM but diverted to NBO. Later they flew back via BJM before heading for BRU.
Tech or BJM local "issue"?

Government jet carrying Irish PM to BRU forced to make unscheduled landing

The government jet carrying the Taoiseach Enda Kenny to Brussels this evening was forced to make a precautionary landing at Baldonnell Aerodrome. It happened after what was described as a 'technical hitch'.

The Taoiseach travelled to Ireland West Airport, Knock, midafternoon to link up with the aircraft which had been flown West to collect him after his weekend break.

No exact details of the problem that affected the aircraft are known, however Mr Kenny and his travelling party are said to be non the worse for their experience.

A spokesperson for Ireland West Airport, Knock confirmed this evening that the government jet with Mr Kenny aboard had taken off for Brussels at around 4pm.

Bourgeois (The Flemish PM)'s bags missed their connection in FRA from BRU to PEK!

I'm happy it happens to VIP's as well!!! ;-)

Cheers,

Stijn

P.S. If he would only have taken Hainan's non-stop flight, this wouldn't have happened!

Even better, he could have flown with the other members of the Belgian delegation on the HiFly A330 chartered by the Belgian Air Force. But maybe he didn't like the word "Belgian"?

It seems that SN3175 Brussels-Rome had a false start this morning: Tintin/Kuifje had to return to Brussels, once near the German border near Malmédy/St. Vith

Edit : replacement aircraft apparently is OO-SNF:

Now also on The Aviation Herald:

Incident: Brussels A320 near Brussels on Jun 23rd 2015, cabin did not pressurize

OO-SNB ... initiated a rapid descent reporting the cabin pressurization "was going too high", a cabin pressurization problem. ...

A replacement A320-200 registration OO-SNF reached Rome with a delay of 2:45 hours.

A Swiss Airbus A319-100, registration HB-IPX performing flight LX-787 from Brussels (Belgium) to Zurich (Switzerland), was climbing out of Brussels when the crew stopped the climb at FL070 reporting vibrations, they wanted to return to Brussels for an inspection.

Bourgeois' return flight from Shangai to Munich was slightly delayed this morning, so he missed his connection onto LH-2282 MUC-BRU (arrival in BRU at 08h10). No big problem, he was transferred to LH-2284 (arrival 10h15). However, the E-190 for that one had a technical problem and the flight is cancelled. Arrival will now probably be with LH-2286 at 12h30. Flemish minister-president Bourgeois therefore misses the weekly Flemish "Council of Ministers"...
