Hi,

Yesterday the contrails came back, this time but only between 28,000 & 32,000ft... which allowed me to snap some LGW departures :D

Hi,

Last week I was on holiday in the Brecon Beacons in Wales, and so I took the scope. For most of the week I was under a blanket of cloud until Saturday, when we had a blast of cold air coming from the north bringing clear skies. That morning I drove up a hill of 500m (1640ft) and watched as LHR departures started contrailing at FL270 :zdziwko:. Throughout the morning had a problem with conditions as there was a sort of dust/haze which reduced the contrast, but conditions improved for the afternoon.

Thanks DC10, I was quite astonished by how low they were contrailing that day.... starting around FL270 and I was 1600ft ASL.... I think I'll definitely go back there if we have another clear spell of weather :)

Many Thanks,
James.
