Yes, Jat has flights Belgrade - Nis
no, JAT did at one stage operate a B733 flight to Nis but a year later it was removed. They do some charter, but i think Air Pink and Prince Aviacija fly charters mainly between the two cities. The only JAT flight from Nis is to Zurich.

Oh by the way, JP Aerdrom Beograd has released an artists impression on the finished product of BEG. A massive cargo facility is being constructed now, and a third terminal is to be planned. and another runway will be built.

http://skyscraperpage.com/gallery/data/ ... lan-ab.jpg

during the summer months, JAT will restart the Cairo, Hurghada, Beirut, Damascus and Monastir flights which is most likely to connect to the N/A flights. Bodrum, Antalya, Corfu, Santorini, Izmir, Keffalinia, and Zakinthos are the most definately remain open during the summer season. Maybe more will be opened.

BEG welcomes 2 new airlines to BEG. In January 2006, THY Turkish Airlines commence services between Istanbuls Ataturk Airport and Belgrade. Also in March 2006, TAROM will commence flights to Belgrade from Bucharest Airport. Talk is that Korean Air is interested in flying to BEG. JAT may come under great pressure from TAROM, as they have plans to restart flights to Beijing, Toronto and JFK in early 2006, with 2 A310's. TAROM joins Skyteam in 2006.

Not sure on the Skyservice flight. They only operate on tuesdays and go via Dublin, while JAT will offer a couple flights aweek between YYZ and BEG non-stop.......with PTVs in every seat!!!, new livery and a new interior. Skyservice will be under pressure in Ohrid, if they will continue next year, as JAT will connect to Ohrid from Beograd. New JAT livery looks like this.

but i want it to be like this:

tell me what yous think,
pozdrav
Thanks for the great update. The new livery is fine. As long as there is a big Jat Airways sign on the plane I'm happy. Anyway the B767-200 will be leased from an American airline company and services to New York start 10 days earlier. Look at the news section for further details.

It's official, JAT will fly from May 15th 2006 to JFK 3 time a week, and from 1st June 2006 2 times a week to YYZ.

The B762 will be leased probably from an American company.

Also, in January 2006, THY Turkish Airlines will restart it's flights to BEG from IST, and in March TAROM will restart its flights to BEG form OTP.

Serbia’s national airlines Jat Airways was expected to commence services to New York on May 25th however the Serbian government has helped for this to happen earlier, that is 10 days earlier, the general director of Jat announced. Therefore with a B767-200 Jat will pushback from Belgrade international on May 15th. Jat will depart for Toronto on June 1st 2006. Jat has started talks with American companies to lease 2 B767-200.
Jat Airways will also get 2 new small 70 seat aircrafts in April leased from another company the type is still unknown

the regional aircraft is said to be ERJ170. JAT want 5 of them, and to be leased. It goes with the list of goodies that they want for Christmas! :lookaround:

- 5 B738
- 5 ERJ 170
- 2 B762
- and some amount of B735

JAT is also wanting to open ORD which may happen after the YYZ flights.

well, Sretna Nova Godina! Bonne année! Het gelukkige nieuwjaar! Happy New Year! :drink:

Cheap ticket prices and offers filling Jat’s planes

Post by Galemos4 »

Recently Jat started selling cheap tickets for regional air travel, in fact the cheapest in the region making Jat very attractive. Today Jat announced yet another offer and a programme, which may lead to Jat’s new, frequent flyer programme. If a person flies twice to the same city, the third time he/she will get 2 free tickets. Also if a passenger flies in business class he/she will get a 100-euro voucher. These offers are on selected routes only. These are Vienna, Paris, Sarajevo, Frankfurt and New York with more cities to be added. The offers are effective from February 1st 2006

JAT is begining to sound like a low cost airline! LOL. but you wouldn't know the difference if you got the YU-ANJ to take you to/from BEG.

and yes, they even included NEW YORK!!!

but i thought JAT had a frequent flyer program called "More than Flying", or was that just a slogan? but i found something else on the JAT website and it says here of the "One Flight More", where if you fly 10 one way or 5 return trips in 1 year you get a free return trip to any JAT destination.

http://www.jat.com/r/home.php?Jezik=en&lev=8

and has anyone noticed that JAT still hasn't updated its webiste! :frusty: when will it finally happen?

From what I gather the media centre has been busy in the last couple of months. They had to make the 2006 calendar (which I will buy soon) and so on. Currently it’s the holidays in Serbia – International New Year, Serbian Christmas, Serbian New Year so people aren’t working – The latest news on the Australia web site is that it will go online during February. Hopefully the international one will follow (the reconstruction of the website is needed)
“Jat more than flying” was just a slogan however they do have a frequent flyer program that will be changed during 2006. The current frequent flyer programme is called - One flight more or one more flight.

If the Serbian government was interested in Jats development the would have done something years ago. I´m not an milionaire but talking with airbus and having problems for 20 something millions euro come on! Forget about the money and order new aircrafts such as 777-200, embraers 170-175 or atr 72-500 and some new Boeing 737-600-800 series. Serbia will easily get up to 600-700 m.euros from worldbank.ibrd and so on if they have a good dev-plan for the company because my opinion is taht Jat with its history and reputation should become greater than turkish, austrian, alitalia in the region.

This is ridiculous. I think never. It is like comparing the mouse with horses.

JAT had the millionth passenger in December this year and find out how many passengers have three written airlines. JAT could maybe reach the level of these three airlines in some 20 years, but we must not forget that these airlines will in meantime also work on its increase.

I agree.

If all of these plans were really going to happen, we would find more news about it on the international aviation media sites, but I have found nothing, so all these announcements and news seem to be confined to this forum site only. Sorry, but I just find it too hard to beleive all these new plans coming from nowhere after spending the last 15 years selling down outdated assetts, strikes, etc., and they only managed to fly their millionth passenger at the end of the year. I'm not convinced.

I do hope that i am wrong.Iknow that JAT would do very well flying
BEG-YYZ
BE-JFK.
When JAT used to fly to Toronto it was always full and there still is a demand, just now we all take different airlines to get to Belgrade

I heard a roumour about a year ago that JAT want to get some B787's.

JAT used to caryy 5 million passengers annualy in the 1980's. now only 1 million. :(

JAT is soon to expand, they have said that there will be big changes in the next 7 months, so we will have to wait and see.

i sooo hope that the trans-atlantic go to plan.

8O Well aerocroatia, i do not have the possibility to know what will happen to Jat in the future but i can tell you that if ryan air and wizzair could start from scratch why could not Jat do it if maybe privatised soon?!.
We do love our respective national carriers but once again people still talk about jats chiep flights to down under and ny in the late 80, in fact it does not bother me that the stewardess are around 50 years old and the boeings slowly falling apart, i have this feeling that jat will once rise again and take its place as at least region leader. You also have to have in mind that sanctions and wars did its shear to the company and we still managed to survive and regain most of lost markets. What is happening with croatia,bh air,bulgaria-aer olympic not to mention malev albania.......
There i still hope and jat should play its cards well.

I don't have anything against Jat, but I want to be realistic. I only want to say that some information of jat plans for the future are too excessive and unrealistic.

Jat is no more the national carrier of more then 20 millions citizens state and there is extremly lower share in attractive touristic flights espacialy when Montenegro Airlines is still doing well and stronger and provides almost all flights out of Montenegro to Europe destinations. Jat also has very pure competition in its hub Belgrade and it is normaly expected that at the same time when jat will expand, foreign airlines will do the same on its flights to Belgrade.

So I think Jat is not comperable with Austrian, Alitalia etc... but with the airlines you counted later: Adria, Croatia Airlines, Tarom, Bulgaria Air, Tarom etc.... I surely agree that Jat could be the regional leading company in the future but only in Balkans region (southern from Alps and Panonia).

Of course nobody knows what will happen with Jat in the future but if austrian can carry about 85% non austrians and alitalia non italians, jat could do the same, with years of experience and lower salaries and so on they have an advantage in one way. Jat and the mediterranean carriers are very very like in the way of behaviour to customers in a good and bad way but we are use to it thats one advantage. If you fly for example with austrian from sto to vie and from vie to zag or beg you will after a while see an difference in behaviour and a lot of us share that "feeling", so Jat can and should expand and fly to the Us. We will for example not hear from the civilised austrians at vienna airport quotes such as 1 hour from vienna to the south east-100 years back in time. Jat or croatia-fly and take over the market.

well if they have lived through world war 2, the cival war, heavy sanctions, having planes confiscated by Turkish and Irish governments, the brake up of SFRJ, the NATO bombings of Beograd in 1999, and air travel restricted to heaps of EU nations, then they will come through on this. There is more situations where JAT has been in, but i think yous know what im on about.

There are many Serbians living in America, like Chicago. How many times a day is there a flight from ORD to JFK? then connect to BEG from JFK to BEG, which will be non-stop and 3 times a week.

Apparently when HY operated 2 times a week BEG - JFK, the flights were always over booked.

YYZ will be 2 times a week non-stop as well, putting competition on 5G with their once a week B757 flight via DUB.

Maybe we can see a UA or AC codeshare on the flights.
