Due @ BRU Wednesday 01/09/04: EC-JAZ

Post by Sabena_690 »

Hi all,

EC-JAZ, IB's 5th A319, is DUE BRU on Wednesday September 1! The aircraft will from now on replace the CRJ on the additional service between BRU and MAD, operating on weekdays in September + Oktober.

At the end of Oktober 2004, the 4 IB A319's currently based in MIA, will also come back to Europe (due to the closure of IB's MIA-hub).

Airbus will deliver a 6th A319 in October 2004, and the final IB A319 will be delivered in January 2005.

Will anybody be at BRU on Wednesday to catch one of the first IB A319 flights in Europe?

Of course: this is subject to change! Keep an eye on biac.be before you leave to the airport!

ETA: 09:50lt
ETD: 11:00lt

Regards
Frederic

Hi Fred

Before the previous IB A319 flew to MIA they flew a couple of flights in Europe.
Marc De Laet, a Belgian spotter, spotted already one a couple of years ago in FRA.

Just to let you know

Sorry guys and girls but the A319 has changed to an A320 for wednesday and thursday September 1/2!

The first visit of the A319 is now planned for September 3 (with the same ETA and ETD).

Fingers crossed!

Thanks for the update. Otherwise I would have gone to the airport without success.

Dear all
I have just returned from the airport as I hadn't read the update.
I am glad I did because EC-JAZ turned up as originally planned looking wonderful in the early morning sun.
Generally a good morning for me:

Does this mean no more Air Nostrum between Brussels and Madrid, and only Brussels - Oviedo with Air Nostrum from October on? For all those assuming inflight service can't get better than with SNBA, I strongly advice to take a ride on the all class Air Nostrum's CRJ's. A shame Air Nostrum is associated with IB....

That's correct, Eurojet!

About Air Nostrum: just like you, I have nothing heard but positive feedback about Air Nostrum service on international flights!

They have as far as I know already won several awards for the best regional airline etc.

Hi Sabena690,

mz wife and I are doing Air Nostrum on a regular basis LUX-MAD. It is a 2-hour eating and drinking feast until Barajas, and this often for EUR 125. Beats Luxair hands down

How do you book this flight?

 Via the Air Nostrum site?
 Via the Iberia site?
 via another site?

Do they also fly other destinations from LUX?

@Md11-er,

The IB online booking engine requires you that the airport from where you leave is situated in the country of the billing adress.

This means that you, as a Belgian, can only book this flight through a travel agent, through online booking engines of travel concerns (for example www.connections.be) or by calling IB.

It would really surprise me if booking through the site of Air Nostrum would be possible. Just like DAT was flying for Sabena, Air Nostrum is flying for IB. If you have to book BRU-DKR, you also book SNBA-tickets and not Birdy Airlines tickets!

I was interested in knowing if I had to book on Air Nostrum.
As they are much better than Miseria.
But as a OneWrold FF I will have my miles booking on IB but flying Air Nostrum.

Well Well very very interesting.

Do they fly on BCN? or Valencia? :?

As far as I know, Air Nostrum is only flying LUX-MAD on a daily base.

Don't forget that Air Nostrum will start a 4-weekly BRU-OVD service starting in the winter season! So you are not necessarily limited to LUX-MAD if you want to fly them to Spain.

Introductary fare was €125 on all flights!

Nope, this was the fare inclusive taxes for a return flight.

I remember I checked that fare on several dates, and it was available on all of them.

In case you want to fly to OVD, the current promo (bookable till September 16th) is €175. After September 16th, the price will increase to €215.

Before I forget, amazing that it still showed up as originally planned!

This confirms that it is very difficult to predict with 100% certainty...
