Unfortunately, Congo is not alone in this case. And the Western carriers are probably less impacted than Africans carriers. The list of failed partnership between Africans airlines is quite huge if we look since 2000s and i have probably forgotten:
Air Senegal International- Royal Air Maroc
Royal Air Maroc - Air Gabon International
South African Airways - Air Tanzania
South African Airlines - Air Cemac
Celestair - Air Ivoire / Air Mali / Air Uganda / Air Burkina
Tunisair - Mauritania Airways
FastJet - FastJet Mozambique
Ethiopian Airlines - Tchadia / Ethiopian Airlines Mozambique
Fly 540 holding - Fly540 Rwanda / Angola / Ghana
Some are coming but not very optimistic
Egyptair - Ghana Airlines
Ethiopian Airlines - Nigeria Air
Ethiopian Airlines - Air Congo
The only success :
Kenya Airways - Precisionair Tanzania
Ethiopian Airlines - Asky

The operational know how is not a problem at all, quite the opposite. Unfortunately, the unavoidable, corruption, embezzlement and nepotism are lethal in an industry with wafer tin margins .

Radio Okapi reports they will be back in the air as from Monday 27th November:rwandan-flyer wrote: ↑10 Sep 2023, 22:07 Congo Airways temporarily suspends flights from 11sept2023. The airline hasn't aircraft to fly. They are grounded due tech issues

Remains only CAA to operate domestic flights, but the airline is also struggling. They have only 3 aircraft.
It's quite pretty sad. People have sometimes to fly from Kinshasa to Addis Ababa or Nairobi to fly then to Goma or Lubumbashi. It was also the case with RwandAir till DR Congo gov decides to suspend RwandAir to serve Kinshasa, Goma and Lubumbashi due to M23 rebeillon.
However some people use to go Brazzaville then to fly to Kigali and take the bus to Goma or the plane to Kamembe to go to Bukavu.
