Mostly no

With EVA Air for instance you can, but they’re an exception

In 2018 I flew to Shanghai with Hainan from BRU..We arrived in Hongquiao instead of Pudong!A long story but it was very confusing for everybody on board, including F.A.!

I remember from the past, before 2000, the China Eastern Airlines flying to BRU with their A340.
Sadly Brussels isn't part of their roadmap

Image
Did Eastern received the rights to fly to Brussels because it doesn't appear on Airoroutes?!

Eastern has no reason to fly to Brussels knowing that authorizations are shared between several companies and are more or less rare. They will concentrate on Skyteam destinations to optimize their connection as much as possible.
China Eastern didn't apply for Brussels, it's not even part of their expansion plan. Only Juneyao and Hainan to Shanghai have done so and are allowed to fly here.

For last winter AI requested slots for DEL - BRU incase they didn’t get the slots in AMS. So maybe they will do the same this time and eventually come to BRU.
Next week there is the slotconference in DXB. After that we will know more what will bring for BRU.

And what is sure is that AI didn't get any slots at AMS. Where the slots for BRU not already closed or am I wrong?
But in case that an airline is getting slots doesn't mean that they will use it.

What would be good also if ANA could increase the number of flights. Japanese economy is still very slow, so it will depend on this. Also Hong Kong and Bangkok are still missing.

But anyway, Summer '24 looks already very promising.

Slot requests were indeed closed on November 2 according to Belgium Slot Coordination, airlines can therefore no longer request S24 slots. The conference will take place November 14-17, hopefully we'll have more news from there.

Of course they can have their own development, I'm not against that, but their infrastructure for widebodies and demand is something else.

Exactly, that's why I wrote "we will see in some time if it is successful.
It was rather surprising to see that announcement. But on the other hand it shows that the Chinese economy slowly starts to grow again. There is anyway a big chance for BRU to see expansion in that part of the world.

Ridiculous, Schiphol ends up suspending its restrictions. Goodbye JetBlue and Air India (among others) to Brussels for the moment probably …

It's postponed, not cancelled. But those companies will also not forget it, it will not end by this. They will keep it in mind.

Second, BRU has to grow on their own strength. Airlines has to come here bcs they want, not as a second option. We have already a very nice portfolio of new ones for next year and some are in the pipeline.

Third, what happened in AMS is a clear sign for all those action groups around BRU who want the same for BRU as what was happening at AMS. Now they are faced that you cannot stop an industry like this. This is a blessing for BRU too bcs the new environment permit has to be requested as from next year. Action groups are now already active.

Considering noise restrictions were a factor in DHL moving its hub to LEJ, I'd say they are not doing so bad from their perspective.

I would not jump to the conclusion airports are unstoppable shooting stars ever aiming for higher orbit. Know how else AMS could impose the cap? Reduce physical capacity at the airport. Wouldn't be the first time an airport intentionally shrinks its passenger service infrastructure.

Some people complained that Norwegian is not flying to Brussels. Considering that Norwegian is now merging with Wideroe, there is no longer a reason to complain.

Erm, most people look for a route and do not really care which airline flies it.

Btw, the merge has not been approved yet.
