Re: Belgian Air Force news
Over the last year BAF has been using a HiFly A330 on more than one occasion, so I’d say it’s still a possibility.

Re: Belgian Air Force news

Vador, via Facebook...
The FA101 successfully went through its flight test today.
As a morale booster here are some pictures I took from the new tail. I hope you will like it and let’s to be able to show it around in a couple of monthes.
Stay strong we will get through this all together.
The tail represent 40 years of F16 in the Belgian Air Force and what the future will be for us soon.

Re: Belgian Air Force news
As far as I know, the A330 MRTT will be based at Eindhoven as part of a multinational fleet. According to the following website, all aircraft will get a Netherlands Air Force roundel...

Is Belgium really going to use this aircraft for official (VIP) and military transport, while it carries a Dutch roundel and no Belgian markings at all ? It's absurd. Why pay for it if you can't even put your own flag on it...

Re: Belgian Air Force news
I am puzzled by the registration of this Falcon 7X (OO-LUM). I can understand that it has no longer a military registration, as it does not belong to the Air Force, but to a private company from which the Air Force is leasing the aircraft. But I'd like to know the name of this company.
It doesn't seem to be Luxaviation (which has 2 Falcon 7X in Belgium, but with a different registration).

Re: Belgian Air Force news
The planes are presumably owned by Dassault Aviation (OO-LUM is still wearing the corporate livery so I assume it's a ex-demo that's a couple years old) but even though the one already delivered is sporting a registration it doesn't appear in the database (yet?). Maybe there's delay with the covid issues, guess we'll see in a few days if the plane(s) appear in the registry.sn26567 wrote: ↑29 Apr 2020, 14:56 I am puzzled by the registration of this Falcon 7X (OO-LUM). Registration : OO-LUM stands for LUchtMacht
Contract with Abelag (Luxaviation)

According to Gérard Gaudin from Belga press agency, the two Falcon 7X aircraft of the Belgian Air Force belong to Abelag Aviation (now called Luxaviation). The first one is registered OO-LUM (for LUchtMacht) and the second OO-FAE (for Force AErienne).

Re: Belgian Air Force news
Any news on livery ?
As these aircraft will be used for VIP/government transports, it would be nice to finally have aircraft with KINGDOM OF BELGIUM (or why not KONINKRIJK BELGIE / ROYAUME DE BELGIQUE) titles, like in other countries:

Re: Belgian Air Force news
We still need OO-LUW (LUftWaffe
Re: Belgian Air Force news
According to the 15th Wing Air Transport on facebook, the planes will not get an 'air force' livery. Just a few emblems will be added.
No money for a bit of paint? Air Force/Government jets with a generic corporate livery? Very unprofessional... #onlyinbelgium

Re: Belgian Air Force news
Was expected since they were delivered with the livery "as is" with the immatriculation painted on the fuselage iso having a temporary decal. But who knows, maybe they'll get a new livery in a couple of years when the paint needs to be refreshed (current livery was painted in 2016).
Btw, OO-LUM is a 14 year old bird, build in 2004 with C/N 4 as it's serial number.
Re: Belgian Air Force news
It looks more like the aircraft was intended for Macron (or Sarkozy in 2007) with the French flag on its tail...
Re: Belgian Air Force news
Going to be funny. A BAF aircraft with the French/Dutch colors on it

Looking sharp!
(although I find the titles too low-vis, compared to the RAF and Luftwaffe)
