Hence, they are officially financially stable....
Re: Air Belgium in 2020
Yes, I'm also curious about that. Bcs here in Brussels we very often congratulate them.
So please clarify
Re: Air Belgium in 2020
Although I still regret the fact that they don't fly from BRU, I'm happy to see they're doing well!
Re: Air Belgium in 2020
A few travel sources mention Mauritius as the next new destination.

Travel Express says so, according to their sources :
Binnenkort kondigt de airline trouwens nog een nieuwe bestemming aan. Uit verschillende bronnen vernam Travel Express dat het daarbij over Mauritius zou gaan.

Of course they did, it was better to attract from the French market, as border is not that far away, but at the mean time it attracts other markets, Belgian, Dutch, German, Luxembourgish (and many more!).
I can have the same opinion than you as CRL and all the destinations are considered as "leisure" or "holiday"..
BRU is more for business, with routes to New York, Washington, Beijing, HK...

Why are you so sure regarding the origin of the pax? Especially when you wrote "(and many more)"TLspotting wrote: ↑04 Feb 2020, 16:57My name is not Wikipedia

For this quote you need to know the figures, for this you need to know the inside news. I have huge doubts that you have this info.
I think, after analysing your post, that a lot of it is based on speculation. Like we say in Flemish: met een korreltje zout

Or, in a more universal language, to avoid cultural struggles : "cum grano salis" - if I didn't miss the dative of the purpose or whatever they call it... As I understand, the English say "with a pinch of salt", too.Like we say in Flemish: met een korreltje zout
Re: Air Belgium in 2020
Both BRU and CRL already attract a lot of PAX from neighbouring countries.Atlantis wrote: ↑04 Feb 2020, 19:49Why are you so sure regarding the origin of the max? Especially when you wrote "(and many more)"TLspotting wrote: ↑04 Feb 2020, 16:57My name is not Wikipedia

If AirBelgium and TUIfly continue with regular flights and correctly priced tickets, and good planes, they will attract more PAX .
And indeed there are for instance already a lot of Mexicans, Cubans using TUIfly for the good product and service offered.
On my last flight from CUN I noticed quite a lot of Eastern Europeans, and Italians.
Potential is there. Better marketing from Belgium airlines & Airports would certainly increase foreign PAX for all of them.
They are still too modest.
So far for the korrel zout.
Re: Air Belgium in 2020
Correct, TUI fly for sure had to foreseen this. They offer Mauritius as a destination but are using other airlines to fly to it. If Air Belgium will chose this as their next destination we will see how it will perform.JOVAN wrote: ↑04 Feb 2020, 20:31Both BRU and CRL already attract a lot of PAX from neighbouring countries.Atlantis wrote: ↑04 Feb 2020, 19:49Why are you so sure regarding the origin of the max? Honestly, I think that TUIfly is not that happy with this success. They could have done it already years ago. But their ambition on long haul is not that huge.
Let's say that they rely more on what they know instead of trying

Air Belgium is to announce the new destination in end February, however, the airline denies that it will be Mauritius.
