It is not yet decided. A board meeting (chaired by Count Etienne Davignon) will decide about the name of the successor this week. But indeed, #2 of the airline is the most probable candidate for the job. He is now CFO.Boavida wrote: ↑03 Dec 2019, 12:40 De Standaard reports that a Belgian(!) will be the new CEO of Brussels Airlines: Dieter Vranckx (apparently he worked for Swiss)

Nevertheless, there is a significant new picture of the Lufthansa Group tails:convair wrote: ↑03 Dec 2019, 15:53Not a word on the status of SN within the group!sn26567 wrote: ↑03 Dec 2019, 12:06 Full story: https://www.aviation24.be/airlines/luft ... lufthansa/

It is not yet decided.
It has been decided, but it’s not official yet.
A déjà vu of Christophe Muller replacing Paul Reutlimger at Sabena and introducing a draconian restructuration plan shortly afterwards.

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019
Big scandal indeed. Shame on them. Let's boycot them. Although... Wait a second... There is even not a word about "the status of Swiss" and/or "the status of Austrian" and/or "the status of Germanwings" and/or "the status of Lufthansa Cargo" in that press release. Maybe because, after all, it's a press release about a reshuffle of the Executive Board? Nothing less, nothing more.convair wrote: ↑03 Dec 2019, 15:53Not a word on the status of SN within the group!sn26567 wrote: ↑03 Dec 2019, 12:06 Full story: https://www.aviation24.be/airlines/luft ... lufthansa/

Because it is about the Lufthansa Group and not individual airlines?convair wrote: ↑03 Dec 2019, 15:53Not a word on the status of SN within the group!sn26567 wrote: ↑03 Dec 2019, 12:06 Full story: https://www.aviation24.be/airlines/luft ... lufthansa/
The picture provided with the tails is a nice gesture imho...

Oh look (all the way in the back):

They completely messed up the b-tail, but the gesture is indeed appreciated!
Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019
A very nice gesture to Drussels Airlines! On main parts of the website SN is still totally ignored www.lufthansagroup.com/en/company/busin ... ments.html
The CEO leaving at a crucial time isn't a good sign. A captain shouldn't leave a ship that is barely afloat to make a promotion. At least I hope she can aford a decent wardobe with her new salary.

It's a mirror-image in the glass-panel building.Boavida wrote: ↑03 Dec 2019, 23:09

If you look at a line up in the reflection of a window like on the picture posted, the reflection of the different tails is exactly as it is shown there: it's a poor visual composition due to the rather odd logo of Brussels Airlines indeed, but it is entirely correct. Putting the logo 'right' in the picture would in fact mean the line up is impossible.
To me, it shows once more that Brussels Airlines is truly 'upgraded' within to group since recently now, because the composition pre-dates their untangling from Eurowings when they weren't even considered for the line up and so the issue of the difficulty to mirror their logo wasn't around: you'll find the same pictures without them in older publications of Lufthansa group.
Shows again what an inflexible logo they have: it always looks odd on one side of the plane, no matter what you do to it. Not a big fan of it myself.
Some people are really a bit too eager to find a stick to beat Lufthansa with, it seems.
I think quite a few people suffer from tunnel vision here, if they truly think the main priority should be for Lufthanssa to completely and immediately revise their entire corporate communications manual because some modest entity like Brussels Airlines is in the process of being moved from one business unit to another! ROTFL!
Just be happy for once that you have such a lenient shareholder: not all investors show the same patience with underperforming equity investments. Oh, and you'll soon get a Belgian CEO on top again: who would have thought this would be the situation 2 years ago, when Mr. Gustin left the airlines?
Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019
Not only for Swiss, but also for Swissair and Sabena and Lufthansa (passengers and cargo).Boavida wrote: ↑03 Dec 2019, 12:40 De Standaard reports that a Belgian(!) will be the new CEO of Brussels Airlines: Dieter Vranckx (apparently he worked for Swiss)

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019
The Brussels Kigali flight plan is almost the same one, each flight. RwandAir has also almost the same flight plan, although sometimes, they fly over Nice (from Kigali) and Perpignan (from Brussels). They did this, when they started flights to Europe, in 2017, it's less the case now.

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019
Hello, does anyone has an idea why BEL371 bounded to DLA/NSI has been cancelled today Dec 10 ? Seems to be replaced by BEL373 BRU -> NSI/DLA in the afternoon.

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019
Show time at BRU this evening.
About one hundred passengers are surrounding the SN ticketing desk. Apparently unhappy campers of derailed SN371 to DLA this morning.
BRU web site still announces an SN373 to depart for NSI/DLA at 16:30 but that seems optimistic if it is meant for today.
Dozens of Police and even Customs officers around so the Pax don't feel lonely.
Press being given a tour.
