Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018
Beside their market in Entebbe, Kigali and Bujumbura, another battle to win for SN should be to come back to Nairobi ASAP (2019-2020 ?). If the LH group makes the decision. Not that obvious...
After a long absence, LH (autumn 2015 after 16 years) and ... AF (spring 2018 after 18 years) are back in NBO.
SN as left NBO since winter 2015/2016 !
LH + LX. Where is SN in autumn 2018 ?
AF + KL + KQ are developing the same strategy together with their N/A partner DL.
NBO is the main east african growing hub and market beside of ADD for both PAX and Cargo.
Any ideas of what could happen?

it appears that as from 28/10 ASL isn't operating for SN anymore as SN3628/3629 but instead SN is separating their own flights again to 06:50 and 09:25(now on SN metal)
from SN3631/3632, 3633/3634 (SN metal) SN3628/3629 (ASL metal)
to SN3631/3632 (SN metal) SN3628/SN3629 (SN metal)
just temporary or did Lufthansa decided ASL is no longer needed?

Pardon my ignorance, but what is the origin and the destination of these flights ?CTBke wrote: ↑25 Sep 2018, 10:25 it appears that as from 28/10 ASL isn't operating for SN anymore as SN3628/3629 but instead SN is separating their own flights again to 06:50 and 09:25(now on SN metal)

"Eurowings, Brussels to merge by end-2020" (ch-aviation)

Can't read more than this on their website, so no idea where they got their information...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018
Can someone write a summary of the article? Not everyone has access to ch-aviation.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018
Subscription to ch-aviation is expensive. Aviation24 doesn't have access, hence we called Brussels Airlines, which told us there is nothing new.
Earlier this year, SN CEO Christina Foerster granted an interview to a Belgian newspaper in which she said that the organisational integration (not the merger) between Eurowings and Brussels Airlines would be completed by end-2020, beginning 2021. Journalists from more distant countries, like Switzerland, retained only the fact that the merger would be completed by end-2020.
In fact, the integration is proceeding at a normal pace, without hurry. That process takes time.
If a more detailed calendar is defined, if more recent information arises, we shall be contacted together with the mainstream press.

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018
I wonder if Tolipanebas will survive the thought that he will be working for a low cost airline.
So much fot SN staying a stand alone branch under LH.
Some of us have been shouting that this would happen, yet the naive SN fanboys never quite wanted to believe it.
Makes one wonder if they were SN fanboys or LH propaganda people?
The blood and sweat that the staff have spilled for this airline will now disappear into oblivion.
It was all in vain my friends (including all the endless discussions we ve had on this board.)

Not arrogant at all, just giving someone a dose of their own medicine.
Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018
Before knowing which medicine to give, a doctor or pharmacist wants to know the symptoms. And it seems you have missed them:
Repeat: integration. Not merger.sn26567 wrote: ↑16 Oct 2018, 14:13 Earlier this year, SN CEO Christina Foerster granted an interview to a Belgian newspaper in which she said that the organisational integration (not the merger) between Eurowings and Brussels Airlines would be completed by end-2020, beginning 2021. Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018
Integration, IMHO, does not go as far as a merger.
Integration means that the IT systems will be made compatible, the products will be made similar, but some characteristics will remain different: brand name (a typical Belgian name for SN, especially for long-haul), livery, uniforms,...
A merger would mean everything would become Eurowings (or Brussels Airlines, but let's not dream).

I hope you're right, but I doubt it for short-haul... I think we'll be drinking Warsteiner or sekt with a pretzel between BRU and MAD in 2020... with a safety demonstration in English and German…
Maybe a compromis à la Belge… "Brussels Wings"...
Cheers,
Stij
P.S. On brand recognition... I'm just back from a trip to Uganda... They still speak about SN Brussels instead of Brussels Airlines...
