Customers will get used to any name. SABENA was replaced by SN brussels airlines .. then Brussels airlines..
They can get used to EUROWINGS or any other name..
As long as it is a continuation of the airline they know.. same website albeit new look and name.. same ticketing office in africa same station manager same local employees in outer stations.. I do not think that a name change will affect business.. I would personally prefer the whole network to go by one name.. either Brussels Airlines or EUROWINGS .. it will be very confusing flying africa - Brussels on brussels airlines then connecting into eurowings on some routes to Europe and Brussels airlines on other routes.. EUROWINGs to JFK etc..

Don't say "point-to-point airlines" anymore, but say "Eurowings Group", because even Eurowings has realised that they need connections to feed their long-haul flights!

I like the Brussels Airlines service and I don't feel attached to the brand. Tomorrow if they were operating as Eurowings in Europe and Sabena in the world I'd be totally fine. Heck even if they were operating as Eurowings in the world I'd be fine but I don't think that's the plan because they want to exert the premium of a network carrier which they can't sell using that generic brand (IMHO).
Should they start cutting back and not investing in Brussels, I have no worry that other players would fill the void. Brussels (and by extension Belgium) is a destination and a market in itself. There's a lot of business to be made.

When is Brussels Airlines going to do something on their hand-luggage issues? The boardings are slowed down by the many carry-ons, all day long. Their on-time performance must be one of the worst in the industry!!

The performance is calculated on arrival not on departure. Many flight starts with delay and are on time on arrival

I spoke to Brussels Airlines about this issue last week. They are very well aware of this issue (which affects also other airlines). As a solution, they will propose a free check-in of trolleys which are not oversize. Free check-in of your hand luggage is already possible with SN from the begining of April ... We did it with the family when going to Venice.
The problem is at the pax side who often taken too big bags (e.g. not respecting sizes) and then, when there seems not to be enough space in the overhead bins complain that their bag must be brought down ...
I personally do not understand why people absolutely want to carry luggage through the airport ... I like to travel light ...

I agree, and i have noticed that they do check in trolleys for Free.. the only problem is BRU. I try to never check in Matthijs flying into BRU as ine can wait up to 45 min for the ligdagen to appeal on the belt!! And Sometimes even longer.. rarely less than 30 min..

On FR24 data and on BRU departures board, scheduled departure tomorrow and Tuesday at 1:10 pm. I wonder why.
Today's 515 to IAD has been canceled (SFN AOG?).
Btw, SN's bi-weekly to Boa Vista/Espargos seems to have been discontinued. Can someone confirm?

The SN501 is scheduled at 1:10 pm on Monday and Tuesday due to works at T1 in JFK.
SN515 is cancelled as the aircraft was hit in ACC by a highloader.

I prefer to travel on a trolley, but a colleague of mine always travels with her suitcase. So when we check in I always offer to have my trolley checked in as well, I have to wait on arrival anyway. In Italy they're always more than happy to accept them. "Un problema in meno".
