BSCA has already also invested in raising the level of Rescue and Fire Fighting services to cope with larger aircraft.
In the current AIP it is still Code 7 but by Notam it is Code 9 since 01APR.

The Aerodrome Category for Rescue and Fire Fighting is determined by the overall length and fuselage width of the most demanding aircraft.

Because of the B738 being 0.50 m longer than the upper limit of Code 6, EBCI was code 7 and hence able to cope with all the single aisle aircraft using the airport.
Now with the A343 it needs to beef up the ARFF to Code 9.

Of course the airport may have had already more than the basic minimum required in terms of number of RFF vehicles (2 for Code 7, min 3 for Code 9) but one of our reporters can find that out.
