The new and all important function of CFO will reportedly be filled by Dieter Vranckx, until now the highest ranking Belgian within the Lufthansa organigram as VP Asia-Pacific and member of the SN Airholding board.
Not only will he become CFO, he'll also be responsible (amongst others) for HR, lobbying and IT and will become 'deputy CEO' and thus likely act as the face of the company within Belgium.
Seems like the official new CEO will merely be responsible for the commercial aspects of the company as before, next to linking back to Lufthansa of course, because the operational part is faling under the responsability of another Belgian, COO Thibault Demoulin.
That way, the German's 'just' take full responability for bringing in the passengers and thus the revenues: not a bad idea if you think you can do better on the revenues side. We'll see if and how they succeed (or not) in growing revenues and profits over the next few years, as they already said change would be slow.
Also the lobbying aspect to the new set of responsabilities for the new CFO is interesting: I suppose its proof that in Germany they are starting to understand that the all important African market heavily relies on the generous Belgian bilaterals as well as on personal contacts overthere, and are unfortunately also quite easily revoked or cut back if not handeled with the right knowledge and style, both on the African side, but also in Belgium, as our PM has already warned Mr Spohr.

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018
No more birds. The real number of active A330 flying for SN depends also of the end of the oldest A330-300 leasing contracts and when the entering "new" A330 birds come into service, isn't it ?

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018
It seems to be an outdated version of the refleet, SN won't take 978 and 983 any longer. I don't know exactly which aircraft Brussels Airlines will take instead, but I believe one of them is 1010.viennafly wrote: ↑19 Mar 2018, 15:59 Seems like the registrations for the new A333s are out.... Interesting to note that he started at Sabena (already) and that he participated in the setup of SN Brussels Airlines before joining the Lufthansa Group in 2001.Inquirer wrote: ↑19 Mar 2018, 18:56 https://www.aviation24.be/airlines/lufth ... -airlines/

Shall he be considered as a Lufthansa man, or will his roots give him some sense of "belgitude" in the defence of the Belgian interests?

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018
These are IATA seasons, they are 'by accident' (not really but ok :p ) related to the summer/winter time difference in Europe, but the IATA seasons are used globally for scheduling, slot allocation,... It doesn't always matter a lot, but for example for slot controlled airports the IATA guidelines are followed and these describe the exact dates and are general (at least for the Northern hemisphere)
SN decided to put 4 pre-summer flights in the timetable (which are officially in the IATA winter season) to extend the seasonal operation in a period where demand is already going up quite well vs. the real low winter season.

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018
This means that the OO-TCT won't go back to Thomas Cook/Condor then?
Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018
