The shareholders and founders of SN Brussels Airlines were in a hurry to find a new brand that could have quickly a relative visibility without paying an expensive commercial campaign. Knowing that the name of Brussels is coming more often in the medias worldwide than the name of the country, Belgium.brusselsairlinesfan wrote: ↑11 Feb 2018, 10:30Really?! This is crazy! Why chosing such a regional name for such a worldwide activity ?!sn26567 wrote: ↑11 Feb 2018, 10:25Belgian politics! Some people in the North of the country dislike anything that carries the name "Belgian". That's also why the TV broadcaster BRT changed its name to VRT for example.brusselsairlinesfan wrote: And why did they chose Brussels Airlines instead of Belgian Airlines at that time ?
If LH changes the name again, my guess goes for Belgianwings. Also maybe they belong the brand yet. It can be a ''glocal'' name (global and local). Thorsten Dirks is talking about keeping the belgian touch and the brand. For how long? But right now the brussels airlines name is still alive.
