First flight very soon, had no time to sell tickets...
or they plan to fill it with chineese
or they plan to have half empty flights (necessary to take off from CRL short runway anyway)
My messages reflect my personal opinion which may be different than yours. I beleive a forum is made to create a debate so I encourage people to express themselves, the way they want, with the ideas they want. I expect the same understanding in return.

André will ask about runway length and AOC at the press conference.

As they don't have connection yet, I guess they could do like a triangular flight, with another destination where they could refuel completly. Like Charleroi-Geneva-Hong Kong-Geneva-Charleroi for example.

BSCA runway length
The length of the runway at Charleroi Airport (2,550 meters) will also handicap the Air Belgium operations during the first years: on the outbound flights the airline will limit the passengers to 257 and the airline will lose out on cargo capacity. Higher thrust on take-off means a “shorter life” for the engines hence an extension of the runway is vital. The officials of BSCA and the Walloon authorities (via Sowaer) reassured Air Belgium to extend the runway with 700 meters to 3,200 meters by 2021.
I have the feeling that the choice for CRL is mostly politically motivated... Who choses an airport with a runway that can't handle a full A340 and offers very limited connection possibilities... (actually 0 since FR doesn't do connections)?
Maybe Air Wallonia was a better name.

So, they say they prefer Brussels-South over Brussels-National because of the €25 difference
To be honest, €25 on a long haul ticket does not seem an outrageous amount to me (paying passenger perspective)
Considering this will give you;
as a passenger
- connections
- train access
- lounge access
as a company
- runway distance
- cargo
- connections
- premium ready terminals
CX opens BRU in a few weeks time (and I hope it'll be a more successful operation than the DUS one) with an A350 and superb on-board product. Not to mention HU with the SZX flight out of BRU.
They have no feeder, no alliance, no interline, no local corporate or O&D market... and no cargo capabilities !
Reminds me of the VG venture... they won't even see 2020.

It is. However, it will never be admitted publicly. This project is a Walloon vs Flemish battle. I'm also pretty sure the AOC is still not yet delivered for political reasons.
They apparently also claim that for passengers living west of Brussels, the travel time to CRL is shorter than to BRU. Apart from a few exceptions (Tournai, Mons, Geraardsbergen and maybe Ronse), this is simply not true.
