Brussels airlines changed it's booking website. It gives you a tab with countries and cities like on the ryanair booking engine.
When you want to book you also have to click through a "select your seat" page. (10 euro to reserve)

Re: Lufthansa buys the remaining 55% of Brussels Airlines
Pfft, the beginning of the problems. If they want to play LCC in BRU, FR has enough power to fight and.... win. SN or EW need a different product
Re: Lufthansa buys the remaining 55% of Brussels Airlines
yes, and no possibility for Senators or Gold M&M to be exempt from this fee!
Re: Lufthansa buys the remaining 55% of Brussels Airlines
If I see this right at the screenshot above of the seatplan, do they charge 10 euro, for those horrible seats at row 30 in the A320 ??
Re: Lufthansa buys the remaining 55% of Brussels Airlines
What's the problem with you guys (m/f)? It's almost weekend, it stopped raining, the sun is shining and it's not very cold for the time of the year. And yes, Brussels Airlines is charging 10 € for preseating. But in one booking class only: their very cheap "Check&Go" fares. And contrary to some other carriers, it's well announced on their website: You want to make sure you have a window seat? For just €10, you can secure your preferred seat in advance (online, at our airport ticketing offices or via our Service Centre at +32 2 723 23 62). Or you can select your seat for free from the remaining available seats during online check-in as from 24 hours before departure.

Yes, but 10€ is steep in comparison with the LCCs. I guess you can still wait until you check in by Internet 24 hrs in advance to get a free seat selection, or am I wrong?

Re: New seat selection process on Brussels Airlines
10 EUR is too much! A couple with 1 kid return is 60 EUR extra...pffff. We go the extra smile?

Re: New seat selection process on Brussels Airlineses
Hi,
As the difference with check n go and FR minimises...
You can attract more pax with the fares, but then... when you fly Milan,Rome and Barcelona to the same airport, you have to pay for seat,luggage,drinks,..
Whats the diference ? None...
You don't choose to fly airbus or boeing, you pick the lowest fare...
As SN is lowering the difference and their fare rises in the end they pick the lowest fare...
Guess they will start loosing the build up market share again from now on...
But guess this is already EUROWINGS taking over....

Re: New seat selection process on Brussels Airlines
The worst thing for me personally is that you have to click through the extra pages during the booking process.
Re: New seat selection process on Brussels Airlines
Disusting system. I am 2m05 tall, and I think it is not fair to charge tall people for a seat that they really need.
Re: New seat selection process on Brussels Airlines
It looks like the emergency row seats are not more expensive than the regular seats (unlike Ryanair which charges more for those seats, as well as for seats in the first 8 and last 3 rows).danieln wrote:Disusting system. Easy. Then don't book a ticket in Check&Go. Book a ticket in Light&Relax, in Flex&Fast or in Business Class. The airline then won't "charge" you extra.danieln wrote:Disusting system. I am 2m05 tall, and I think it is not fair to charge tall people for a seat that they really need.

You get what you pay for...Jetter wrote:If you have more tips to save a little money I'll be glad to hear of it.Passenger wrote:Book a ticket in (...) Business Class.
It's the same when buying a new car. If you go to the dealership to order a VW Polo, don't expect to get a Bentley when you receive the car...
and you conveniently leave out the other options (Light&Relax and Flex&Fast). How biased!
Re: New seat selection process on Brussels Airlines
For me I think it's very convenient system you are always sure to get the seat you want.
Like with Ryanair that's one of the positive things about flying with them.

Hasta la victoria siempre.
Re: New seat selection process on Brussels Airlines
People should keep in mind that not all check n go fares are 39 EUR .. I have paid over 200 EUR for that class of travel return. That is definitely overpriced for what one gets on a 55 min flight...
