Who will buy all of Emirates A380's when they start releasing them to the second-hand market in a few years? Chinese airlines?

Re: Airbus A380 news
I am rather unhappy Qatar Airways reduces it's 3x daily A380's to BKK as of september.
I had 4 legs to/from BKK second half 2016, replaced by their new B777/300 in 2-2-2 and 3-4-3 config.
Seems QR will use the A380 to Sidney.
Qr will fly 4 daily B777 and a fift from december on I read somewhere.

Iran Air may swap its 12 A380s on order with Airbus for another model, as the “option” is included in the 118-aircraft order contract signed earlier in 2016.

Emirates took its 80th A380 in June.
Only 20 airlines in the world have more A320s than EK has superjumbos.

In order to avoid a glut, Airbus has announced at Farnborough that the production rate of the A380 would be cut to 12 a year, instead of 27 in 2015.

Re: Airbus A380 news
Seems like a further reduction in the order backlog is inevitable.
Qantas Doesn’t Want the Last Eight A380s on Order
(Bloomberg) -- Qantas Airways Ltd. said it doesn’t want the remaining eight A380s it still has on order because the dozen it operates now are sufficient to meet demand, further dimming future sales prospects for the largest passenger plane that’s struggled to find buyers. “Our intention is that we’re not taking those aircraft,” Qantas Chief Executive Officer Alan Joyce said Friday at an airline conference in Brisbane, Australia.
Qantas was one of the original operators of the A380 and looked to become one of the biggest buyers of the double-decker built by Airbus Group SE. Joyce has pushed back delivery of the remaining planes for about two years now, joining customers including Virgin Atlantic Ltd. that haven’t outright canceled orders but are unlikely ever to have them fulfilled. That leaves Emirates of Dubai as the one committed buyer of the aircraft.
Since its first A380 went into service in 2008, Qantas has shifted its strategy to focus on direct routes between smaller cities rather than larger hubs with more passengers to fill bigger planes. “We believe there’s a network for 12 that’s very good and works very well,” Joyce said. “We struggle with a network for the next eight.”

Re: Airbus A380 news
Bad news for the A380 indeed, even if Qantas is likely to pay a heavy penalty to Airbus.

Sad, I love flying in the A380.
Have a BKK-DOH booked early September.
Unfortunately QR dropped it's A380's to BKK from 3x to 1 daily.

Malaysia Airlines is completing a charter business concept to operate its six Airbus A380s in a dedicated subsidiary for Hajj religious pilgrimage traffic.
The new charter operations would likely be put into a separate entity and could formally launch before December.
Airbus can adapt the cabins within four to six weeks to accommodate 700 passengers in an all-economy class seating, including pray areas on board the A380, besides other features.

Re: Airbus A380 news
Emirates is not happy with Rolls-Royce A380 engines
Emirates Airline is having some unspecified technical issues with Rolls-Royce engines for A380 jets that are coming up for delivery, but still hopes to take the first one as scheduled in December.
A spokesman for Rolls-Royce said: "We are working with Emirates and Airbus to meet the planned entry into service of the Trent powered A380 within the Emirates fleet."
The $9.2 billion deal for Rolls-Royce to supply engines for 50 Emirates A380 planes, announced in April 2015, was the largest order in the history of the British company.
