Just for info. But there is no such thing as a D-check on an Airbus. Highest check, and that is what this was, is a C-check. But combined with let's say a 12 yearly check and other work, it can take some time...Bel33 wrote:In marge of this topic, SFV, grounded since more than 2 months for D check, I presume, flight this afternoon from Lisbon as SN9910 : http://www.flightradar24.com/reg/oo-sfv

How come Airbusses do not require D-checks?RTM wrote:Just for info. But there is no such thing as a D-check on an Airbus. Highest check, and that is what this was, is a C-check. That is just how Airbus designed its maintenance programs. It's a different philosophy, that's all. Instead of doing more or less standart C-checks for a while, and then pulling an aircraft in for a major D-check, pulling it completely apart, the heavier tasks are spread out over the C-checks. Consequently, not all C-checks are similar. One can be a light one, low manhours, low downtime, another one can be just the opposite. But still not as rigorous as a D-check. There is something to say for both approaches, which one is better, is just up to the opinion of the airline I guess. And how much they take it into account on deciding which aircraft to operate...

I was distracted by the German registration, but that was the test registration of courseAirbus A330 wrote:The first of 4 A319s is already identified:

So indeed as mentionned on the previous page of this topic the future OO-SSL is an ex-Frontier aircraft, delivered in summer 2002.
So now we know the identity of OO-SNE, OO-SFX and OO-SSL. Another A320, 3 more A319's and hopefully also still for 2016 a second A330, yet to go

OO-SNE will be deliverd on 1 March 2016, according to airlinefleets.netcrew1990 wrote:OO-SSL is from 2002 so a 14 years old A319.
OO-SNE is from 2010 so a 6 years old A320.
Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Yesterday, I flew on SN 2064 (EDI-BRU) on OO-SSK (exceptionally operated by the A319, as this flight is normally operated by the RJ100).
I was surprised to see that the screens above the seats were used, showing the route map, the flight info (and even the transfer info for connecting passengers). I've never seen this before on previous SN flights in the A320 or A319.
Is SN planning to use the screens on all the existing and coming A320/319 planes?
I think it's very good to do so, it gives a bit more entertainment/info to the passengers while it must not be very expensive to operate...
Are all the A320/319's equipped with the system? and if they are, why isn't the system operated more often?
Regards,
Duke

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
As far as I know, only a few are equipped with this system because it was already installed when SN started leasing these planes.
Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
not all A319/A320 have screen and on some of those who have the screens, the content can not be used...Duke wrote: Are all the A320/319's equipped with the system? and if they are, why isn't the system operated more often?

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Hi,
Guess we must see an STAR ALLIANCE livery now no ?
At least one plane of each type in this livery was normally needed, no ?

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
As far as I know there is only a non-binding guideline on the # or % of the fleet to be painted in the alliance paint. I doubt there are many members actually fully complying to the alliance guidelines, especially those with small fleets and the ones like Singapore Airlines that have always been very ignorant on that aspect.cathay belgium wrote: Guess we must see an STAR ALLIANCE livery now no ?
