This Monday Jetairfly apologised and initiated an internal inquiry to try to understand what happened. Jetairfly is in contact with the family of the young man to bring them back to France on the best possible flight. Jetairfly will try to determine whether the problem occurred at the travel agency's level or within the company itself.

It seems that the Dreamliner (OO-JDL) was grounded in Cancun on Tuesday, and that a HiFly A330-200 (CS-TQP) was used as backup. 00-JDL arrived in Brussels this morning.

And due to the same grounding (bird strike), the day before an XL Airways France A330 was used as a backup.

The B763ER OO-JNL is now repainted wearing the TUI titles.

No Belgian flag anymore on the new livery of OO-JNL :?:
And "Tui.com" on the engine? Directs you to a German website...can't book a simple flight from e.g ANR or e.g. BRU-AGP on that one... ...Strange marketing imo

When will Jetairfly start with the new 'TUI' colours on the 737's? Thanks!

The whole TUI re-branding of the planes is about having more flexibility. As only airline enthusiasts will notice they are not flying a local plane. In the mean time the are increasing TUI-brand awareness. Which is important as that can lead to the re-branding of the travel agencies in a later stage.

Btw: when clicking on country selection for language purposes, you are directed to the local brand website. This is just the normal Jetair website, so you'll know what to look for ;)

Indeed, you're right. Nevertheless, rather 'difficult' to find at first glance and marketingwise not very consumer-friendly if you want to maximise bookings...

The answer of Jetairfly on the different issues raised above:

The flags are no longer on the TUI Group aircraft in the new livery (except for Germany, where this is a legal obligation). Reason: interchangeability of aircraft in the different source markets.

As far as TUI.com is concerned: when you surf to TUI.com you land on the German website. In the right upper corner there is a German flag, with a drop down menu with a.o. also the Belgian flag. This will be optimised soon, with an automatic scroll menu when you land on this site.

The other question (when will the 737s be in the new livery): we will approach this in a pragmatic way, I mean change it at the occasion of the next paintshop visit, instead of creating extra costs for repainting them all right away.

Hello,
Nobody noticed OO-JNL received a (unreadable) name during paint? ;)

So, Jetairfly planes will keep their names once repainted! :) 8-)

Sorry, but I can see it, clearly. Between the cockpit window and cabin door.

It was a reference to the meteorological conditions when the picture was taken ;)

Yeah I've seen the name, I just made a joke about the lack of sunshine in the picture like KriVa pointed out a couple of minutes ago ;)

It seems that JAF-503 Brussels-Cancun (787-800 OO-JDL) took no risk with hurricane Patricia, announced to hit Mexico during the forthcoming hours. The Dreamliner is now overland the U.S. OO-JDL first reached the Canadian border a bit north of Goose Bay, and then flew above Quebec and New York southbound. Flight is still in the air now.

That's a very regular routing to avoid strong winds over the Atlantic.
Especially in winter time...
Nothing particular at all.
