My fault... CRL was just for holding!
Re: Abnormalities in BRU-ANR-CRL-LGG-OST in 2015
Most of them were diverted to CGNsn26567 wrote:To CRL in the middle of the night?SabenaForever wrote:Is LGG closed? 9 airplanes bound for LGG are in holding... Now diverting to BRU and CRL.

all this for less than 5cm of snow.
My messages reflect my personal opinion which may be different than yours. I beleive a forum is made to create a debate so I encourage people to express themselves, the way they want, with the ideas they want. I expect the same understanding in return.

If you think you can help you can take a shovel and clean the runway smartass!
Re: Abnormalities in BRU-ANR-CRL-LGG-OST in 2015
The snowfall came right at the time the inbounds were supposed to come in, so most of them diverted to Brussels or Koln. There were arrivals at Liege at least until 07.00 local this morning.
If some here feel like to land an aircraft at night in a snowstorm (no visibility) at 200km/h on 5 cms of snow, you should apply...

At about 1945(LT) yesterday evening,we heard quite a few firetrucks pass by, a lot more than would be used in a "normal" fire scenario. Living close by (actually next to) Antwerp Airport, our thoughts immediately went to something going on there.
A few hours later, those thoughts were confirmed, by the Antwerp Fire Department on Twitter, being called an "airplane with problems, but landed safely".
Anybody with an idea as to what was going on?

Even after snow cleaning, breaking action was reported poor-poor-poor.Acid-drop wrote:all this for less than 5cm of snow.
Runway and taxi Alpha were icy and needed an additional spraying.
On top after a few diversions to BRU, Zaventem was "full" and and only CGN and LUX were able to accept inbound flights.

Apparently, (a part of) the airport at Antwerp has been closed down due to a bomb alarm.
(Source: hln.be, others haven't picked it up yet.)
Quite handy to be living next to the airport, but not hearing anything about it
