It's my understanding Thai flies BKK-BRU 3xweek 246 now, thus no reduction from 4 to 3x?

Thai will operate 4 weekly from February untill early May. I assume May-June is less bussy for a route like BKK. I believe winter and the holiday months of July/August are bussier. The opposite of several Southern-European destinations which attract a low amount of pax in winter and more in the summer.

Oh, I tought about booking such a flight, partly to add a new airline to my flightlog, but it's a bit too expensive for just that. :P

Yeay indeed, I prefer a short, 'cheap' (you know what I mean) trip to Venice anyway, haha

Hmm, not coincidently the 777 that would have operated EWR otherwise? No seriously, good news for this route. :)

After checking a post on airlineroute.net:
Indeed as from 6 June UA will send a 3-class 772ER on the route ORD-BRU. On the other hand, EWR stays CO 764ER for the entire summer season, it was planned to upgrade this to UA772ER again as from 3 June... This is no coincidence in my opinion...No way UA pulls back from EWR because of a lack of demand now that two airlines pulled back from the NYC-BRU market and SN/UA never were so strong in this market. OR they want to offer a second daily flight themself, OR SN is going to add flights to NYC (either JFK or EWR) OR (and I think that's not likely) they start a serious partnership with 9W. Anyway, it's clear something is happening with the UA/SN offer to/from NYC and UA decided to invest the capacity on another route to BRU.

(maybe moderaters could move this post to the SN-2nd US destination topic if that's more appropriate)

brussels airlines Summer 2013 Europe Operation Changes

Previously reported on Airline Route in April and September 2012 respectively, brussels airlines is cancelling 8 routes in Winter 2012/13 season from 28OCT12. As per 30OCT12 GDS timetable and inventory display, 5 of these 8 routes will be resumed in summer as summer-only service, while remaining 3 will be completely cancelled.

Details:

Brussels – Catania eff 06APR13 1 weekly A319
Brussels – Faro eff 31MAR13 4 weekly A319
Brussels – Florence eff 31MAR13 8 weekly Avro RJ85
Brussels – Naples eff 06APR13 5 weekly A319
Brussels – Porto eff 06APR13 1 Daily A319

brussels airlines will not resume following service, per its published Winter 2012/13 timetable booklet:
Brussels – Athens
Brussels – Krakow
Brussels – Warsaw

Source: Airline Route

I still notice a daily RJ85 to FLR. It should be a mistake: they will be phased out completely at the end of this year.

I didn't check it again now, but some days ago there were still several routes loaded with RJ85 for S13 (many of these are now operated by Q400 and some by RJ100). Maybe it's just because they didn't decided yet what to do exactly with the capacity on these routes, and as a result loaded RJ85's because of it's intermediate capacity (situated between Q400 and RJ100)?

Btw, nice to see SN returning to these destinations in summer period (because in the summer you can make money with them). It's a pitty WAW, KRK and ATH don't return, but on the other side it's normal. They can't make money with them and LOT and Aegean offer multiple daily flights to WAW and ATH respectively and KRK...
