What's the reason for UA operating a 747 on the BRU-ORD flight those days?

Indeed, i am also curious about the reason to send an 747-4 to BRU (how was the load anyway?)

Anyone? And does somebody took a picture?

Wow a United 744 to BRU?

Could it be that it is a charterflight? If so then the plane operating this will be N194UA which was previously leased to Atlas Air and now operating as United Charter.

The plane in question:

Hmm, just checked the flight numbers and apparently it seems they happen to operate quite often from and to airforce bases in the USA. Could it be a military charter?

The UA744 will indeed arrive tomorrow and will overnight in Brussels (Maybe at Melsbroek or Abelag). It will leave on Saturday to ORD with NATO officials to the summit next sunday.

The extra UA772 that arrived this week was also a chartered (military) flight, it came over to pick up EU officials for the G8 summit that starts tomorrow at Camp David. I assume it will return to Brussels early next week.

I wonder if it wouldn't been cheaper to use the BAF A333 for the job since they do (or did) quite some flying for NATO and the EU in the past.
