When we landed in Stuttgart one week ago, we passed next to this plane while taxiing to our gate. I just had the time to grab my camera in my pocket and shoot one blurry picture of it... any idea what type it is? It was gone when we flew back. I already saw pictures of such planes, but cannot remember anything on it.
Don't we need to know the Fairchild Metroliner at BRU ?
Is this the aircraft also used by OLT ? I guess: bremen ??
Nice plane, would like to fly it one day

If my memory serves me well, EAT has Metroliners with Belgian registration. I even flew one from Brussels to Barcelona: it needed an intermediate fuelling stop at Poitiers. The co-pilot was at the same time steward and when he moved along the aisle to serve the meals, some kind of stabilizer was automatically actuated to keep the plane in balance. Quite an experience!
The Metroliner doesn't have the greatest of reputations I'm afraid as evidenced by some of its nicknames!
SWEARINGEN METROLINER
Death Pencil / Kerozen Crowbar / San Antonio Sewerpipe / Swetro / Terror Tube / Texas Lawn Dart / Texas Sewer Pipe / "That noisy f*cking thing / Window Maker
The most recent crash of one was at Cork in February.
As to the Avanti, you may not have seen one but you may well have heard one as they make a very distinctive sound, on and off the ground. They are regular visitors to Brussels, particularly those of the Italian military

OLT flew last year with a Metro to BRU. Not sure this year. (BAe Jetstream 32?)
OLT flew LEJ-BRU / BRU-LEJ with a Metro indeed.
It has now been changed to a SF340 done by Central Connect Airlines (CCA).
most of the pax are DHL related...
for your second picture, it is indeed a Fairchild C-26 Metroliner (US military name) but its civil name is Fairchild/Swearingen SA226 Metro(liner) with SA227 Merlin being its older sister.
Thank you all for your replies! You guys always amaze me! I was expecting only the plane type, and you could give also the operators, reg, a bit of history... I feel like a very young Padawan in front of the Jedi Council "Much to learn, still I have"
