Singapore Cargo B747 and Egyptair A321 now flying circles south and west of Hasselt, allthough airspace does not seem to be very crowded. Same for the Iberia and Brussels Airlines planes coming from Madrid, buth that was above Aalst. Why would that be ? Anything to do with runway 20 in use ?

A posibilty could be that at that moment there are arrival ceremonies for the VIP's visiting the Asian Summit in BRU.
Just guessing, but I know it happened before.
Re: BRU 04/10/2010
About half an hour earlier, emergency units rushed to the airport as usual when someone declares emergency... so that should be the reason.

When we saw these emergency vehicules going to runway 20 we were hoping for a medical landing or technical prob with a uncommon aircraft. It was just for a small business jet. Before the arrival of the jet, planes were landing as usual.
