Re: BRU summer 2011: latest news, routes, airlines
It's a kind of no news but I would like to share it none-the-less. MEA has not loaded flights beyond the end of the Winter season, I hope there will be a quick reaction as many people like to book some time in advance and a late decision would prejudice on their load factor.
Re: BRU summer 2011: latest news, routes, airlines
Air Transat released in meanwhile also their summerschedule 2011 for BRU. They are going to reduced the number of flights with one. This means there will be three flights a week on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday all with their A310-300.

Re: BRU summer 2011: latest news, routes, airlines
Well, they must feel the competition from AC, which is offering a daily connection....
probably the beginning of the end of TS at BRU if you ask me.

Re: BRU summer 2011: latest news, routes, airlines
Air Canada will resume daily flights starting from 28MAR2011 between BRU & YUL. Still operated with the B763.
Re: BRU summer 2011: latest news, routes, airlines
Continental Airlines will downgrade the EWR flight again from a 772 to a 764 starting in may 2011.
Re: BRU summer 2011: latest news, routes, airlines
It's just a guess, but I see them operating a second daily EWR rotation starting S11 (as they plan this already for a long time). They wouldn't need a B772 to BRU anymore if that's the case. It's just not logical that they operate 772 during the winter, and when the high season comming up in May they downgrade again. Altough their lack of long haul aircraft could be a reason also. Of course this is just a guess, but I wouldn't be suprised of that.Bralo20 wrote:Continental Airlines will downgrade the EWR flight again from a 772 to a 764 starting in may 2011.

Don't forget that business traffic during summer, certain months, are lower then during winter.
Re: BRU summer 2011: latest news, routes, airlines
Yes I know, but that doesn't chance my idea about CO (finally) starting a second daily rotation. But as I said before, it's just my idea.Atlantis wrote:

when it comes to the business traffic, of course Air Transat is no match for AC.tolipanebas wrote:Well, they must feel the competition from AC, which is offering a daily connection....

For leisure or VFR traffic though, the hard product is clearly behind AC, but Air Transat offers rock bottom prices. For the coming days, I found a price of €230 one way!
Re: BRU summer 2011: latest news, routes, airlines
It's not a secret that CO want to start up a second daily flight to BRU. But.....if they really want to do that they had done it already for years. They have rescheduled their ops, they merged together with United, etc. United claimed that two destinations are more then enough for them ex-BRU.MR_Boeing wrote:Yes I know, but that doesn't chance my idea about CO (finally) starting a second daily rotation. I have mixed feelings about CO. Everytime they asked slots for a second flight and they even send their schedule and type of a/c and this several years. And now they are going to close their call center in Brussels.
Re: BRU summer 2011: latest news, routes, airlines
How about the often expected flights to Japan ? Still any chance NH (maybe in code share with SN) will add BRU to its network in 2011 ?

Aer Lingus to Dublin
Summer 2010: 13 weekly flights (2 daily, morning and evening except Saturday evening)
September/October 2010: 14 weekly flights (extra afternoon service on Thursdays)
Winter 2010/2011: 16 weekly flights (extra afternoon service on Mondays and Fridays)
Summer 2011: 18 weekly flights (extra afternoon service on Saturdays and Sundays)
This makes for a very nice evolution
In Summer 2010 Aer Lingus upgraded approximately half their flights to a A321 (from a A320). I suppose they'll upgrade far less regularly once their extra afternoon services kick-in in Winter 2010/2011.

Brussels Airlines will offer a second daily flight between Brussels and Athens.
The additional frequency will leave BRU in the morning, supplementing their existing evening flight.
Both flights will be in codeshare with Aegean/Olympic which will continue to operate a noon flight itself too.

So this will replace the frequency that is being cut by the Greek counterpart and leave the combined offer at 3 daily flights nicely time in the morning, noon, and evening.tolipanebas wrote:Brussels Airlines will offer a second daily flight between Brussels and Athens.
