Re: new A319 for SN
I'm not sure Tunis, Algiers and Tripoli could sustain the capacity of an A320, but the aircraft could certainly be usued on destinations with a strong demand like, from what I hear, AGP( Malaga) and TLV. Just a suggestion (to keep the forum talking) :
BRU AGP 1000 - 1300
AGP BRU 1400 - 1700
BRU TLV 1900 - 0020
TLV BRU 0120 -0510
or
BRU BEY 2015 - 0230
BEY BRU 0330 - 0715
The latter certainly if the A320 could be an addition to the fleet instead of a replacement for an 737.
Given that AF flies a 777 to BEY and MEA an A330 to CDG, there must be a demand for flights to BEY (of course, there will be more point-to-point traffic between Paris and BEY, but nevertheless...)

In favor of quality air travel.

Re: new A319 for SN
It's a bit off topic but since it was brought up...
I don't think there is a chance left for SN to operate on its own to the Levant other than TLV.
ALP, BEY and DAM are covered by RB and now ME is introducing frequent BEY-BRU flights, seasonal to begin with but who knows. RJ has reopened BRU and increased frequency. It would be rather difficult for SN to go head to head with these home carriers on these destinations.
Plus I think these destinations are well covered at better yields, or lower when required by softer demand, via FRA and LHR. Seeing LH seems to have realized BD's former BMED routes are worth something, they may prefer to push traffic in those directions. Lower yielding customers will always find their way via BUD, PRG and so on.
Mind you that except for RB, both ME and RJ offer far superior inflight amenities onboard their narrow-bodies including PTV and AVOD in economy and 2 by 2 real business class seats upfront, so it's a loosing game for SN.
Glad to see SSC and SSD returning home, and hoping to see more, including A320s and perhaps one or two odd A321s if there is ever a need.

Here are two shots of him, taken on april 28th

Re: new A319 for SN
the engine color doesn't match the fuselage color though.
if it really is ment to keep the engines in the regular SN color they should put the B logo on it imo

Re: new A319 for SN
The pinkish colour of the engines, although standard on all SN jets, indeed looks hidious in combination with the pale STAR alliance fuselage, but then this is how it is supposed to be done by all STAR alliance airlines: paint the tail and fuselage, keep the engines as usual.cnc wrote:the engine color doesn't match the fuselage color though.

OS has a similar issue with their STAR alliance jets for instance:

It's a fact the STAR alliance livery just doesn't look good for airlines which have colourful engines as part of their corporate livery...
IMHO, SN should have just modified the STAR requirements: if SQ is allowed to deviate rather flagrantly from the rules (SQ refuse to paint the STAR logo on the tail, but rather keep their own, which I think is a very good initiative of theirs), then surely SN can get away with just painting the engines white with the B logo on it... Interestingly, this is also exactly how it is shown in the corporate identity manual on our intranet, with an A330 as example.
Re: new A319 for SN
note that the engines are in the WRONG!!!! colours
all SN engines are blue- grey'ish, these are purple.

Re: new A319 for SN
the colour of the engines doesn't matter for the alliance, sn just wanted to paint them in grey / blue so they can be used on other 319's just in case. but somethinf wenth wrong in communication with shannonTUB023 wrote:note that the engines are in the WRONG!!!! colours

Re: new A319 for SN

Re: new A319 for SN
Indeed, the colour used on this 319 is the same type of "lila" that was used before SN Brussels Airlines was rebranded into Brussels Airlines. The a/c was painted at Shannon at I thought.TUB023 wrote:nocnc wrote:are you sure its not an optical color fault due to the sun or something?it is the wrong colour, look at other SN 319's.

Re: new A319 for SN
So the because a communicatian fault, the paint company used the color of SN Brussels Airlines and not the more grey'ish color of Brussels Airlines?Airplanefooood wrote:Indeed, the colour used on this 319 is the same type of "lila" that was used before SN Brussels Airlines was rebranded into Brussels Airlines. Re: new A319 for SN
Will the second A319 also be in STAR colours then? I don't think this is confirmed yet...
Anyway, if it is, I wonder if it woudn't make sense to paint it like its sistership, even with the error, so at least it keeps the same look. Or are they going to correct the error on 00-SSC? Given that I think it is actually SN which gave Sannon the wrong instructions, I'd doubt it.
Anyway, this is so typical for SN: always a second change needed to get it right.
it started with their name, then the logo (a dot was added to avoid having 13 of them) over the on board product (exit C class then re-introduce it) and now also this... it is really symptomatic for this airline, it seems... Some GERMAN EFFICIENCY is urgently needed, I'd say! Give us a single German CEO, please.
