ANR (EBAW) 28 feb 2009 : ILS calibration?

While visiting Antwerpen yesterday, I observed a very loud twin piston taking off over the city. Nothing special there, but rather surprising was its approaching again a few minutes later in the opposite direction. Did they change runways right then? On a day with very little wind?
But I heard some rumour about ILS calibration (didn't check Notams yet) could it have been that? I thought ILS calibration was done with a Beech twin turboprop? English registered?

There's now also a french registered aircraft doing calibrations.

That's correct, a Beech King Air of Direction Générale de l'Aviation Civile was performing some low-approaches into rwy 29 for calibration.

But a King Air has turbo-props? What then was my noisy piston-banger doing?

@Nevihta: any registration, perhaps?

Confirmed - Belgocontrol is since a few months hiring a French company to perform the navigation callibrations.
