Boeing 747 Order Backlog

At the end of 2002, Boeing had only 52 747 in its order backlog, the lowest level since the early 1980s. The outlook for future orders is relatively poor. Some fear that when United Airlines will file for bankruptcy, the market will be flooded with 40 more 747s (btween 2 and 12 years old) as these aircraft will be replaced by the Boeing 777.
