That economy looks like it can rival some business classes
I like the upper deck 2 4 2 configuration... especially seat row 81 looks interesting, exit in front, so extra leg space, only one row behind you to the galley, so you'll be getting your drinks and food pretty fast... I know what I'll be aiming for at the online check in.
Does anybody know when the monster will be used on LHR-SIN?

This one was really funny and I'd like to share it with you guys (and girls) :
"Captain Robert Ting is the chief pilot for the whole Singapore Airlines A380 fleet.
He said he sees in this giant of the airs a "creation of God" and he needs not have any personal pride for holding his position."
Airliners.net member:
One would think that if God could create the universe and everything in it in 7 days, then the A380 shouldn't be 2 years late.

Seats 3CD or 4CD sold at around 5200 € each between Singapore and Sydney. I love that picture with the bottle of Champagne in the middle..made the front page of the IHT and went around the world. That's what I call communication. Can't wait to try this 'dream' with Krug and Caviarearthman wrote:I bet a ticket for the matrimonial suite costs more than my whole wedding did.FLY4HOURS.BE wrote:I know but I wasn t expecting them on the A380.
There's also the matrimonial suite...
As I recall the luxury liners had their heyday suddenly pulled out form under them by competition.A350XWB wrote:Chew Choon Seng, chief executive of Singapore Airlines

All the major airlines have had to adjust to the low cost carrier model, that being people want cheap seats within their respective countries. The big boys have escaped that by going international. What happens when the low cost carriers follow them there?
The A380 in that configuration is not a cheap seat. You have to charge extra to make up for it (or subsidize it with other money making routes per the Concorde).
What happens to his airline, when someone takes a 787-9 and offers that same route at half the cost? Its going to happen.
While I respect Seng a great deal, the reality is, its his job to get the best deal for Singapore Airlines. Boeing and Airbus have to decide if making a few boutique models is worth sinking their companies for (Clark and his Sydney to London route).
This will last for a while, then they will have to start packing them in tighter. While the Concorde could not pack them in any tighter, the A380 does have that option.
What I dislike is that the knocking of the venerable, and I think universally agreed on respect for the 747 as an extremely all time fine aircraft. I’ll give the A380 the title of King of the Air (its not an attractive aircraft, just a big one) , but I will always reserve the title of “Queen of the Skies” to the 747.
