Air Lac post about U2:
Air_Lac wrote:Hello,

I read in the latest issue of the easyJet inflight magazine it is stated:
"Au départ de Genève..., Bruxelles sera relié une fois par jour à partir du 29 juin 2007 et deux fois par jour à partir de début septembre 2007".

The Geneva Brussels route would be flown 1 per day as from 29 June and twice per day as from early September 2007.

Bookings are not yet possible though on the easyJet site and the map does not feature Brussels as a destination. Also the news on the site do not mention that route.

This is surely related to the merging of SN/TV.

This would be the first route by easyJet to Brussels.

I have not seen this reported anywhere else, if it is already a topic, please move it to the relevant Forum.

GVA-NCE- BRU-GVA and GVA-BRU-NCE-GVA...

It would be nice to see, maybe in the future who knows, all the low cost carriers at the Satellite. That would be a perfect place to handle those flights. And like in other countries, let those airlines pay for the refurbishment of the Satellite. With its nine gates it could be perfect.

Its sad to see that part of the airport empty.

You know, Expatica usually reports in English what has already been written in the French- and Dutch-speaking press of Belgium, so, nothing really new there...

Hi pnc.
First the Avro's are not so old and for me Brussels will always be better because they have 7 flight's a day. That's EASY and believe my office is ready to pay for it.

I prefer to fly with an old Avro in place of an Easyjet A319 because the place is more great in the belgian bird. Following my various experiences between ORY and Toulouse and Marseille, Easyjet proposes new 319 but their seats are too much small ! and of course the services are very limited ... For business travels , Easyjet is not my cup of tea ! Actually for tourism maybe but what is really the chosen customers in this GVA link ? Tourists or businessmen ?

A brand new A319 without comfort I'd say. I'd know what to choose...

Don't tempt them...! I can think of a few organisations that would easily pay 20 euros per sector rather than 300!
I can't wait for Easyjet to start up. I feel Brussels A's are going to have to watch out.

I flew to GVA last year, in an SN A319. The return flight was also in an A319... still, I suppose that the Easyjet flights will pose some competition to SN, but nothing to worry about at first. After all, these are just two flights. But if Easyjet is considering expanding at BRU, maybe SN should start to worry. Time will tell I suppose...

Come to think of it... everytime I take SN, I get the A319. You think I get preferential treatment? :D

Quick trial booking here:

Times.
BruA's Departing one way on the 30th June 2007: Time 0850 Departure
Easyjet again one way ticket same day: Time 0815 Departure

Price.
Brussels Airlines with tax and fees. 103.99 Euros
Easyjet with tax and fees. 32.99 Euros

The Brussels price wasn't the B Flex package either that costs 213.99.
The Easyjet price rises to 40.49 Euro when paying with a credit card rather than a debit card.

One thing that is apparent here are the taxes, with BruA's 37.99 + 5 Euros booking fee. With Easyjet only 23 Euros. Why...?
