Be aware for divertions tommorow!

Post by Andries »

Spotters, be aware !!!
French airport personnel will begin a strike tommorow that will last for 24 hours. This means that Brussels and Ostend are likely to have some divertions from CDG.
Unfortunatly, I can't go to the airport tomorrow as I have to go to school ...

I can assure you that such divertions are no fun to deal with. You get extra work but no extra manpower, and everybody wants to be helped at the same time. Chaos is the word that comes to mind.

You're right, but for the spotters it's just great to have unusual planes to spot. Unfortunately I won't be able to spot tomorrow :(

But for those who will. I wish you to have a lot of fun and hope you'll see rare planes

Can You see these planes (flights) also on the arivals-list of the airports? For example Brussels? Or can you see them just a short time before the landing and not a couple of hours before?

Greetings

Dave,

all depends. Sometimes some companies will have "scheduled diverstions". This means previous arangments have been made with handling companies, buscompanies,... etc and procedures for smooth handling have been made. This also means that extra staff will be there to handle the extra workload. The way of workingis different as "to improvise" is not applicable. But I agree, for spotters this is a unique opportunity to have great shots (cfr NW a few weeks ago)

Thanks 744rules, I need to go to school tomorrow and therefore I was wondering that I could maybe follow what happens in Brussels on the Internet.

Greetings

Yesterday, I was landing at 19:50 and I saw a Russian Il-62 with bright new paintwork. I could not read the full registration, but it started with the regular RA-...

Any idea what it was? A diversion from CDG?

I do not think this was a diversion as these Il-62's are fairly regular, operated by the Russian Government, in Brussels for a meeting yesterday, probably at NATO/NAVO/OTAN if the rest of the miltary visitors are any guide.
