Gordon Bennet International balloon contest

Last year, this prestigious international balloon contest was won by a belgian crew conducted by Bob Berben (Former Captain A330 Sabena, Birdy and SNBA). So, these days, the next edition is taking place in the belgian balloon 'Mekka' of Waasmunster near Sint Niklaas.
17 baloons took off this evening. The SE-wind takes them straight to the sea, direction englisch coast. They hope the expected SW-wind will bring them to Scandinavia !!

The Belgian winners of last year ended 8th (Bob Berben and Benoît Siméons). If a Belgian team wins the Gordon Bennett next year (3-in-a-row) Belgium wins the official Gordon Bennett trophy!
