SN Brussels airlines during the summer

I was checking the online timetable
and I saw that during the summer months
( 1/7 - 31/8 ) SNBA is reducing it frequencies
to some destinations like Berlin THF , Strasbourg , Bristol ,
Birmingham , Bologna ,...

I suppose that these are business destinations ?
Is this every summer ?

Why not offering more summer destinations
because if they are cutting in the frequencies
the planes are staying more on the ground , no ?

The BHX ones reduce each summer and come back to normal at the end of August/beginning of September. The MAN ones are often the same though.

They free equipement for more lucrative charter flights (july-august). e.g. three destinations ex gva.

That's just what they are doing; for example they have new services to Genua and Dubrovnik and they are used on charter flights to Ajaccio, Bastia, Catania...

They also cut Warsaw (from 2 to 1 flight). But, as sais before, the planes are used for charters and increases to tourist destinations (Seville, Jersey, ... in addition to what was mentioned before).
