There will be a commercial cooperation between SN Brussels Airlines and Hainan Airlines.
airazurxtror posted on Fri 14 Apr 2006 11:59:48It's absolutely not certain that SNBA will code share with Hainan Airlines. The flights are going over Russia and the ops carrier and the code share partners have to pay taxes.
So, this is now certain that Hainan will come to BRU. After the stop at Beijing they will fly further to Shangai.
They will fly four times a week and the inaugural flight is for the second part of June.
According to Bernard Demonty in "Le Soir" of to-day :
- Chinese company Hainan has decided to launch, from July this year, four weekly flights between Brussels and China.
- the flights will depart on tuesday, thursday, saturday and sunday, with a B767.
- a commercial agreement with the SNBA-VE group is being discussed but is not yet finalised.
- Hainan was created in 1993, and operates domestic flights between some 50 Chinese airports.
- Hainan is now expanding to foreign destinations (Budapest, Osaka and Seoul - and , besides Brussels, plans to go to Geneva, Zurich, Boston).
- the company has 5 B767, and 30 B737; on order : 6 A319, 8 B787.
- China Eastern tried Brussels - Pekin some ten years ago, and closed it rather early, for lack of traffic.
- it is thought that Hainan will attract passengers only by offering fares cheaper than at Amsterdam, Paris, Frankfurt or London.
