SN Brussels Airlines confirms flights to Tel Aviv
Moderator: Latest news team
English translation
For those of you who do not understand Dutch, SN Brussels Airlines confirm that they will launch a thrice-weekly flight from Brussels to Tel Aviv on 4 June. A fourth weekly relation will be added at the end of June.
My comment: this will come in addition to the 6 weekly flights of El Al, some of which are operated on a wide-body B767. Is that not too large a capacity? After all, this destination is in war-stricken zone!
In my opinion, SN BA should have resorted to code-sharing with LY on that destination, like Sabena in the past.

Snba's confermation about Tel-Aviv flights
> SN Brussels Airlines will fly to Tel-Aviv from the 4th of June 2003
SN Brussels Airlines confirms it will connect Brussels with Tel-Aviv starting the 4th of June. In a first phase 3 weekly flights will be operated. A fourth weekly connection will follow by the end of June.
Due to the war in Iraq several media had doubts about the scheduled flights to Israel which will be offered by SN Brussels Airlines from June 2003.
Today SN Brussels Airlines can confirm that the initially foreseen flight schedule will be put into practice. “We are confident that this new 44th medium-range destination will be successful,” states Roby Herskowicz, who is appointed as manager of SN Brussels Airlines in Israel.
“There is a lot of interest in these flights and the first booking results are satisfying. Major travel organizations in Israel will introduce the Israeli tourists to Belgium’s historical cities and other tourist attractions. We also hope to greet Belgian business people on board. Israel is after all an important business partner for the Belgian economy.”
From the 4th of June a modern Airbus 319 in Business and Economy Class configuration will connect Brussels with Tel-Aviv three times a week (on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday evening). From the end of June a fourth flight on Saturday evening will be added.
The departure in Brussels is scheduled at 19.10. The return flight from Tel-Aviv departs at 1.30 local time and arrives in Brussels at 5.20 local time.
This flight schedule offers easy transfer possibilities for dozens of destinations that are daily operated by SN Brussels Airlines
