Frankfurt Airport cancelled 120 flights due to heavy snow

Post by killerwhale65 »

The busiest airport in continental Europe had to cancel more than 120 flights today. Even more flights were delayed by up to 1 hour.

Reason was the heavy snowfall, causing a 20cm thick snow-layer in the morning.

Airport spokesman Klaus Busch had no idea how many passengers were affected.

I don't want to imagine how it is going to affect the entire European network :? I believe Lufthansa is going to be the most affected :?: :? Hope everything gets back to normal soon.

FRA is a little bit far from BRU to divert flights, don't you agree?

8O Man, 400 flights! That must be a hell of a snowfall!! How often does this happen? Sorry for the question, but where I live it almost never snows, although they close the airport for a couple of hours 2 or 3 times a year due to bad weather, mostly because of foggy conditions.

Yes ... But sometimes strange things happen ... I once got diverted to CDG and I think CDG is further then FRA ...

The busiest airport in continental Europe
Not sure what criteria are being used to measure "busiest" but if it is aircraft movements it is Paris Charles de Gaulle which has the edge.Just.
Your pedantically
