Vueling in 2006 (Update 30/09)

Post by airbuske »

I was reading an article at Aviación Digital an I read that 2005 was a good year for Vueling
they made in 2005 135 million turnover.

In 2006 they would like to increase the number of routes and frequencies.
In the article the are speaking about a fleet of more than 21 planes , this year ?

Today the add 3 new destinations to their Madrid hub.
The new destinations from Madrid are : Milan , Lisboa and Amsterdam.

The article you can find here on Aviacion Digital ( Only available in spanish )

A profit of 135 million :wow: That's amazing !!

Well done to Vueling. Let's hope they'll be able to expand a lot.

Indeed it's turnover , I'm sorry !

But that's good for a company that exists 18 months , no ?

I have read yesterday an article about Vueling at RegionalHub and yes they have plans to expand. And especially in aircrafts. They want to have 50 more aircrafts within three years.

It's nice to read that Vueling is having a good business!

I wonder if there is such a big potential to fill 50 planes anually within three years... Please correct me if I'm wrong...

Anyway, it seems we get an Iberian Air War :):):)

Good luck, Vueling - and of course Iberia too ;)

They should have more then 21 planes at the end of 2006 it says it the article.
The first plans if I remember good to have 12 planes at the end of 2006. So it seems Vueling has big plans for this year. Here in Spain it is getting known by everybody.

Only I have my doubts about having more then 50 planes in three years. I don't think they will increase that much. First of all you need a lot of investment money to buy or lease 50 planes. I think they should continue like they are doing now, grow but not grow to fast so they don't overpass themselfs!

I'm really happy to hear Vueling is making profit! Go VUEING!!

Vueling will extend its present capital until 80 million euros. Vueling has today a captial of 30 million and will buy twenty new airplanes after becoming the fourth operator at Barcelona airport.

For "guaranteeing the growth of the company", Abbot announced yesterday an extension of capital,30 million euros capital and 20 million in credit lines, which will be translated in "the future acquisition of a fleet until twenty airplanes of the A320 type".

According to Abbot, Vueling has become, by traffic volume, the fourth operator of the airport El Prat, behind Iberia, Spanair and Air Europe, in less than two years of operation.

The president of Vueling informed that past year the company transported more than two million passengers, of which 1.4 million passed by the airport of El Prat.
Vueling transported the first year of operations (2004 )275,000 passengers.

First the article says that they will buy 20 new airplanes and a little bit later they will buy new airplanes until the reach a fleet of 20 A320's.

Also I can tell you that Vueling would like to open 9 new routes this year.
