Taxes on ticket......

Post by Erna »

What does the "tax" on airline tickets consist of?

I am asking because I have never known them to be so high, a tax of 200 euro or more on a return ticket to BKK is nowadays very normal, and I really can't imagine that fuel prices are solely responsible for that....

Can someone please enlighten me?

Thanks,

Erna

Airport tax
Fuel tax
A 'service fee' sometimes (SN)
By taking a paper ticket, you also have to pay (SN)

When booking online with SN the other day they charged me a service fee, why is this? I understand charging a fee for using another human at the call centre to book for you, but online...? I am the booking agent! Rrrrrrr!!
Ok finished now!

One of the top five costs with American Airlines is distribution next to fuel, labor, and airplane costs (both payments and maintenance). It costs airlines millions every year. So, I feel your pain. :x
