New low cost airline in CRL, starting March 2004

Post by A318 »

Just found out in March 2004 a new (French) low cost carrier will start flying from Charleroi.
The name is Flyeco and they will start flying with 737-300's.
More information you can find at:
http://www.flyeco.com/

ps. Can somebody put a english translation somewhere from the info of their site? I have no idea what it all says since it is in French :)

Greetz,

Hi,

Seems also that they will have interesting destination, but only in France for the moment, and all of them leisure destinations: Biarritz, perpignan, Nimes and Toulon.

Does anyone have an idea of the 'impact' on Brussels-South? Should be quite important no?

CRL will no longer be a one-airline airport. Excellent for them. Furthermore, Eco's destinations do not compete with Ryanair's.

Eveybody shoud be satisfied.

Yes sn26567, that's true. Question is: will the new airline receive the same 'advantages' as Ryanair?

Yes! The Walloon regional authorities have always said everyone will get the same advantages

As a staunch supporter of Belgian airlines, I think it would be nice to see a new Belgian airline starting up to fly from Charleroi, instead of one Irish airline and an up-coming French airline using the airport.
Sabena and Sobelair - gone but never forgotten.

André, what about Carcassonne (Ryanair) and Perpignan (Flyeco.com) :?:
That seems indeed to be the only possible competition (113 km between both cities, double the distance between BRU and CRL)
