Cyprus Airways wants to join alliance with European airline.

Post by SN30952 »

Cyprus Airways is exploring the possibility of joining an alliance with an European airline.
It was said that it had decided to join an alliance with Air France, KLM and Alitalia.
The state controlled Cypriot carrier has code sharing agreements with Alitalia and KLM.
'We have been in contact with some airlines on joining alliances... we believe that our location gives us a unique advantage and access to the Middle East and Gulf markets' Cyprus Airways said.

Hi,

Is it also correct that they own (part) of Hellas Jet, the airline that SNBA is having codeshare agreements with on the BRU-ATH route?

The share holders of Hellas jet are:

Cyprus Airways (49%) - Omega Bank S.A (26%) - AEF European Capital Investments BV (25%)
