This BRU-SOF service has been announced in the september edition of the leading Belgian 'Travel Magazine'.

In the Thomas Cook winterbrochure, this new charterservice is widely advertised, describing the seat pitch and quality inflight service on SNba's Avro's.
Flights are supposed to operate every saturday starting on 20 dec 2003 untill late march 2004.
There is even a full page of publicity (with an SNba Avro picture) in order to support this new link.

BUT, apparently SNba and Thomas Cook ended this agreement before the first flight even started. Thomas Cook is transfering his clients on FB now.
I saw that yesterday in the thomas cook winterbrochure. I thought it was funny that they put pax on SNBA instead on their own planes

Anyway, this still remains a very good advertising for SNBA :P

I am not so sure that the cancellation of a contract is such good publicity :?

Why not :?: :?

Ok I know it's not good to loose a contract  but people who don't know SNBA yet will get to know the name.

And that's what SN Brussels need, popularity :!:

Now I hate TCW !! :shoot:
It would be good if SNBA has a new destination and
with TCW they would have a lot of pax.

I agree with you, but it seems logical to me that TCB will organize a trip flying with its own planes

That's why I found it very funny to see the SNBA advertising in there magazine

Why should they always use their own planes. An Avro would maybe just do better (pax not high enough for the bigger plane ...)

Is there room for more additional New York flights out of BRU :?:

Demol,

I think so ... Before there were 5 flights / day from BRU-JFK. Currently there are only two flights (+ the two per week of Biman). The fact that CO upgraded it's plane from a 767-200 to a 767-400 indicates good performance, no?

Before, BRU was also an important Sabena hub with a lot of transit pax. Now this transit traffic has disappeared. This justifies a steep reduction in the number of BRU-NYC flights (not only JFK, but also EWR served by CO, and previously by SN as well).

Hi,

Does anyone know when SNBA will communicate the final winter schedule to the public. It's already October 18th, this is quite close to the new winter season ... !?

believe me we (as flight crew @ snba) would like to know the new schedule just as well , because that we we now what we could expect as nightstops for the winter season. As far as I know budapest will be coming online soon and they are indeed looking at some of the longer routes to fly with our own planes (the airbus guys get almost no flights or nightstops so they will have to try to keep em busy :P )
If I get some more info on other destinations I'll let you know (but management don't really like to give us usefull info  )

Nice flying ya all
