Great to see that the event was very well organized and that you've all had such a nice experience . SN-quality, you can always count on it .
I had to work unfortunately last night and morning (however, the money earned should fund an education for a license we'd all would like to have), and I'm too young to already own a car anyway so I couldn't make it (train+bus took too long). But I did see and hear some of the flights here at the coast between COA and KOK. Weather was indeed not well, TEMPO SHRA as we should say, but I think it must've been wonderful to be in one of those ARJ's at that moment.
I also hope for another chance within 1 or 2 years. 8)
Ps: I don't know if it was available, but if anyone got "love their airport job" materials leftover, please let me know.

Hi everyone!
Was really great today (as probably almost everyone can confirm...).
Indeed too bad you had to wait so long to enter the 319. But anyway , visited it the previous edition , 2003. Than I wasn't able to enter the Avro RJ85 , because lack of time. So I chose the 319. Now I FLEW a Avro Even better!
Didn't saw anyone from luchtzak , except good friends I know from outside luchtzak too so...but I must admit , I wasn't there really long.Because since the 319 had so long waiting times. We didn't entered it , and we saw all the rest pretty quickly. So we just took the flight SN1007 (OO-DWH) from 11:00 (departed 11:33). Right after the TUI Belgium B734 OO-TUA (and something later than the old colors Delta airlines B763).
By the way...does anyone has a picture of our departure/arrival. I can't even find a pic of it on airliners.net , weird. Looks he likes to hide from spotters except today.
Flight was indeed really great. Almost constantly between 2000 and 3500ft and a speed of approx almost all the flight around 250kts. You could see how fast it was if we saw the shadow flaring over the country-fields (and cows :D). Too bad it was rainy when we past EBOS. It looks like it was loaded with heavy's? Does anyone flown a previous flight than ours? (10:00 , 10:30???) Maybe you can tell me than what was on the apron. Thx in advance! We could clearly see the DHL (of course what else would you expect ) apron , the IL-76 from Aeroflot(Poetin), the train formation station of 'Haren' , the Cathedral of Koekelberg I think (too bad not the atomium , looks so shiny now ) , the cool towers of the central of Vilvoorde , the canal. Further to the west , the sea-port of Zeebrugge I think (we did a go-around). And followed by the coast line of Blankerberge and the Pier of Blankenberge(by that time we had lost so much altitude , that we could see the people walking on the beach...MARVELOUS!!!!!!) , further the airport of Ostend/Bruges...Gent....Mechelen (too bad on the right) , the castle right behind 25R and the wall...great flight!
Hope everyone had a nice day , and am already looking forward to the next edition ( 2007?).
BTW: Another special request (I know , I demand a lot today...therefor sorry ), does anyone accidentally know what is in the Lufthansa Technics hangar? When we passed it during taxi , we saw a MD-11 standing inside it , but we couldn't see what airline...too dark. And we weren't aloud to go check it right before the doors .
Thanks again!
Best flying regards: Yannick

I could clearly recognise the all-white ex Silk Way DC-8, another DC-8 from MK Airlines and a 747 from that same airline.Bruspotter wrote:It looks like it was loaded with heavy's? Aha, so maybe you can see yourself entering the building on this small video... :rotate:At around 8h15 I arrived at the entrance, where 15 or so people were already standing. A while later, 'Sabena 690' arrived and we met with 'MD-11'.

Hello
Ok , thanks for the info about the EBOS planes Robin_Bamps
Well , we took off and quite quickly (after a minute I guess) we took a right turn (not too sharp) , so if I could see it , it should have been somewhere on the left , doesn't it? (the atomium)? I taught...well since it's so shiny I will easily recognize it , but no way Didn't saw it. Anyway , other nice views

As I had to fly to Oslo yesterday-afternoon I also had the opportunity to visit the opendoor. Nice to meet a few fellow luchtzakkers (thanks for the pictures Bart!), friends and colleagues.
Setup of the hangar was great: inflight service was perfectly demonstrated, Airbus A319 in demonstration, Avro 85 in maintenance, friends told me that the flights where perfectly organised! I appreciated the newspaper (Het Nieuwsblad op zondag + La dernière heure Dimanche) when leaving the building.
Sorry for the people who asked me very technical stuff like engine thrust, etc... but I redirected them to technics who are the specialists anyway
One thing that makes me sad is that action group bruairlibre takes the opportunity to protest once more: this time about the 3 Avro Whisperjets that where flying 'needless' (in their words) above Belgium for the opendoor (and making noise).

I'm sorry to bring it, but I was rather disappointed...
Could be because I already visited the LH headquarters in FRA which is of course 200 times bigger, but I found this open door to be rather small, with only 1 small plane to visit... and some people in the work spaces were just standing there, not telling anything about what was happening in their dept.
All in all, it was well organised, with many enthousiast people working to make it a great day for many, but i felt it was SMALL, that's all

Glad you enjoyed your flights you lucky guys! I would love a low flight over Belgium. I once had a superb view of the Atomium just after take off, and it does look great from the air (this was in March). It is looking more beautiful now that it is more shiny, and I look forward to seeing it again in November and when it reopens again next year.
And how can people complain about the noise from an Avro

I also took the flight SN1007. I was seated 16A. I just think you were behind me. I heard "you" speak about MD-11 that was in Lufthansa Technics.
I came very late (9.45am) to the ticketing desk due to public transports but I was surprised I could get a ticket for me and my girlfriend for the flight of 1100. Well I enjoyed the flight even if I had to reassure my gf (first flight for her)
We were, I think, the only french speaking in the plane 8O . Quite amazing !
Best regards.

There you'll find a small recording of the event.

Hi all!
I also took the SN1007 flight! Seat 11F. I've made plenty of pics but I don't have time to post them now. I tried to upload 4 pics on airliners.net - waiting for an answer from them.
BTW, Yannick, did you have a bag with "Brussels Spotter" and "Thomas Cook" on it?

Hi everyone!
loutri666
How pleasant to hear! So you where the one before me? Please to meet you! Was indeed a very nice flight!!!
Later on , it turned out to be a Gemini Air Cargo MD-11Freighter that was in the LH-Technics hangar. (we didn't got the opportunity to go and take a quick look before the hangar-doors :( they refused ) too bad , but I know a friend wich really can come to know everything from in and around the LH-Technics , he knows someone there , so ... it was easy to find out what airline the MD-11 was
Yaroslav:
No , that wasn't me. That mas my good pal Ivan! He enjoyed he's first flight certainly as much as I did. We usually hang together a lot so. It might be confusing. You should have to see he's mini-sized chair he always have with him , it's REALLY small! And he wrote on it : " Bruspotter---No use without permission"
Hope we will be loaded with pics of all the different flights the next coming days??? Really waiting for it
Best regards: Yannick

I was on that flight too, and by the looks of the wing pics you must have sat somewhere around my seat. I guess behind since Jordi was sitting 2 rows in front...Sabena320 wrote:I was on the SN1005 and my best pictures of the flight can be seen on http://spotters.skynetblogs.be
