DHL @ BRU

Only six flights would leave from Brussels every night: two to Leipzig and four to other European hubs (Copenhagen, Bergamo, etc.).
Above quite from - https://www.aviation24.be/article9490.html

Where are these other hubs - is EMA one?

Does anybody know what will happen with World Airlines, Gemini, Transaero? These are contractors for DHL, EAT, and fly also daily to Brussels. Are they also leaving?

I'd love to hear that I'm wrong about this point, but I expect all this (intercontinental) DHL related traffic to disappear, probably including the Kalitta flights.

It looks like -as from 2008- BRU may loose several 100.000 tons of cargo on an annual basis.

Bad news for BRU, anyone likely to take over some of the facilities?

I know from EAT that there are several cargo airlines will take over the activities of DHL. Is it true or not, I don't know. And yes, are the allowed?

If Brussels will be in the Top 5 of European cargo airports they have to search other possibilities.

In the first place, Macquarie Airports was not interested in cargo, but for some time they have made a turn of 180°. Maybe we can expect something from that corner?

Honestly I expect Etihad Crystal Cargo in Brussels.

I have been told that DHL Building 2 is going to become the TGV train station.

Yep they are flying to Milan also Frankfurt.

About the buildings of DHL. Building 2 indeed will be used as station but don't forget that DHL not completely leave the airport. With 5 or 6 airplanes every night they still need building 3.

Next to this building you have buildings 4, 5 and now also 6.

What the destination will be with that is not shore for the moment. There were different plans with it: a shoppingcenter, conference Center, etc.

Our sub hubs or Ema,Cph,Cgn,Vit,Bgy and Bah. Not Dubai.
Please keep in mind that just thinking that other companies taking over the DHL cargo in the future is a littlebit difficult. Al the Bru cargo will go to Leipzig, that's it. Only a very small part of the 1000 tons every night has as final destination Bru. The flights in and out Bru will most probably go to a sub-hub and Leipzig after 2008.

On the subject of DHL, how come they fly out of LHR. Wouldnt it be cheaper to concentrate all operations on LTN.
