New Jamaican carrier to fly from 2021 - but wait a minute...

Post by Vic Diesel »

Jamaica wasopenly called a "graveyard for airlines" by former tourism minister and Oriole's chairman, Ms. Aloun Ndombet-Assamba: Trans-Jamaican Airlines, Jamaica Air Shuttle, Air Jamaica Express, Air Jamaica and Fly Jamaica all disappeared as quickly as they emerged. This time, things should go a different way.

The new airline should start operations in 376 days, according to the countdown on their website, basically a teaser at the moment. And while they want to position themselves in the LCC segment and offer mainly domestic routes, according to their designated CEO Keith Kerr (who helped start up airlines in Saudi Arabia and in Japan - remember Peach?), the teaser video on their website shows the planned livery painted on an... A380!

We should stay tuned and follow closely what will become of this somewhat strangely-presented project...
Best regards,
