Flemish state tv deredactie.be reports that only the socialist trade union ABVV/FGTB will go on strike on 26th April. The liberal trade union ACLVB and the christian (what's in a name) trade union ACV have decided not to join the strike. Don't know yet if this also applies to their French friends of CSC (ACV) and CGSLB (ACLVB).webstermc wrote:Het laatste nieuws stated that Belgocontrol would not be participating

Public sector strike across Germany on Wednesday, April 27 2016
Due to a public sector strike across Germany on Wednesday, April 27 2016, major disruptions and flight cancellations could also be expected, a.o. at Frankfurt Airport. Before travelling to the airport, we recommend that passengers check the status of their flight on their airline’s website and take advantage of possible online rebooking options. Passengers, whose flight has not been cancelled in advance, are advised to allow extra time for their journey to the airport on Wednesday, April 27 2016, and to check in as early as possible, since we expect longer waiting times during the strike. Passengers, whose flight has been cancelled without any rebooking options, are kindly requested to refrain from coming to the airport.

Re: Strikes affecting Belgian airports in 2016
The least one can say, is that Belgium's trade unions have a tradition of "first strike, then negociate". In the Netherlands, example at AMS Schiphol Airport, going on a strike is the very last solution. Workload for AMS security seems to be even higher than at BRU, but they just hold a short demonstration ahead of negociations. Enough to alert the press - then it's back to work.

Re: Strikes affecting Belgian airports in 2016
May have to fly to MAD later this week, doesn't look too good :
Quote Eurocontrol :
A French national call to strike is called for starting Thursday, May 19th 2016 at 04:00 UTC.
NOTAM F0880/16 refers
Several public service unions have echoed this call, including USAC-CGT for the DGAC .
You're invited by DSNA to a conference (in French ) on Tuesday May 17th at 14:00 UTC to discuss the impact.
NMOC Brussels
Anyone more info on this and possible disruption on BRU-MAD flights?
Thanks,
H.A.

Thanks André,
I have postponed my flight to MAD to Monday instead of tomorrow.
In the same way that you have to avoid bad weather, maybe Eurocontrol should produce some "StikeTAM".
After all we have Notams, Snowtams, Ashtams, ...
