One would think that it would appear on the Nav Display as routes ar normally programmed in the FMS. Regardless of the amount of airports in the vicinity: bad airmanship if you ask me. Simply take a chart and you'll notice the importance of backing visual clues up with a maximum of navigation aids. I'm not familiar with the specific situation, but proper use of nav aids should make this type of mistakes impossible.

The three airports in one single view: easy to make a mistake! McConnell Air Force Base is on top, Beech airport in the middle and Jabara at the bottom. The runways are more or less in the same direction and close to each other...

If you fly a visual you should know your surroundings.
If you fly an instrument procedure, you should fly it accurately...
Not sure what happened here but those pilots will surely be very embarrassed...
I'm glad to see though no more damage was done...

NTSB has opened an investigation into an incident on Wednesday in which an Atlas Air 747-400 landed at the wrong airport in Wichita, Kansas.
