Singapore Airlines A380, MSN 005, has been fully dismantled at Tarbes-Lourdes, after being retired in April 2018. The aircraft is owned by Dr. Peters Group of Germany.

Qantas Group plans for an early return of five A380s to meet high demand to Los Angeles and London from mid-2022. A total of 10 A380s with upgraded cabins are scheduled to return to service; two are to be retired.

Etihad CEO Tony Douglas says there is a slight chance the carrier could see the return of its A380, should big thick routes come back, load factors get back to high utilisation, and the yield on the ticket gets back.

British Airways A380s reentering service will initially operate to a number of short-haul destinations to allow for crew service familiarisation in November 2021, shortly followed by operating to Miami and Los Angeles in the US, as well as Dubai in December.

ANA All Nippon Airways is set to introduce Mixed Fleet Flying for the A380 and A320 Family following approval by Japan’s Civil Aviation Bureau. ANA is the first operator in the world to introduce the Mixed Fleet Flying between the two types.
